Beautiful garden with dozen of secret places to sit and watch the garden
Both lovers of geometry and wildlife will find something to watch and admire.
The coffee point is lovely. You can smell freshly ground coffee fat from the point :)
There are some savoury snacks and food in the menu, but we took the lemon drizzle cake only (it was very good).
Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed in the garden
A very interesting country house with a rich history. The tour is highly recommended, the guides were very knowledgeable and interesting and the tale they wove of connection to do many different aspects of history were delightful.
The gardens are spectacular, not in size but in their design and in their upkeep. And for walkers there are long walks too.
A surprise but a very welcome one!!
A wonderful house and lovely gardens and arboretum to wander around. The guided tour was really interesting and very well done with a lot of fascinating family history which really helps appreciate the house. The cafe is also very good and well run.
A small but fascinating country house, gardens and estate. Narrow road to the parking area. Large indoor cafe with outside tables, chairs and sun umberellas. Food and drinks of average quality with a limited choice. From ordering a sandwich to delivery took 35 minutes! The gardens are a delight and are on several levels with ponds in a hidden valley style setting. The house tour of an hour with two guides explaning its history and that of the families over the centuries is most interesting, although a tad too long. Overall well worth a visit though.
What a wonderfully peaceful and beautiful place to visit. The gardens are a delight to walk around (with plenty of carefully placed benches for the weary of leg to pause a while) and the house is stunning. A very knowledgeable and entertaining guide on the house tour made the experience even better. A visit to the tea rooms also recommended. Although online booking is not essential it does make things easier and ensures a place on the house tour before you arrive.
We popped in as saw signs in passing. Unfortunately we missed the last tour of the house by 10 minutes. The grounds are lovely to wander round. Some information regarding plants and structures would be nice.
Waiting to go to a wedding. What a fantastic venue. Hope the rain holds off. Also a visiting site for gardens and sunken gardens. Coffee and cakes shop too. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful gardens, ornamental ponds and natural swimming pool. Visit
late May for flowering trees and shrubs, pond lilies, newts and tadpoles.
Guided tour of house takes approximately 50 mins. Hear about the many Earls if Sandwich.
