Lovely family in the cafe, food and service was amazing and reasonably priced, both my hubby and I enjoyed our meals, and the best cappuccino ever. We stayed 2 nights on the farm which was not enough, great lge pitches and lovely new shower block, didn't want to leave.
fantastic find , very clean , very friendly and a cafe on site . we really enjoyed our 3 night stay . bus stops outside we traveled into Chester and then to Liverpool for the day , it's a great base for sightseeing .
Two lovely guys having a brew and home made cake my Mum made. Owner and staff maintaining the campsite, keeping up the standards. The things we don’t see we just turn up and enjoy. Love this place quiet, nice and flat. Outstanding cafe and shop. ALL staff very approachable
Great hearty food. Would recommend to anyone. Great farm shop next door too!
Edit: replying to the business reply. Filmed through my jacket? Nope. How is that even possible. I have uploaded actual video I took; nothing secret about that and goes against your reply. Aggressive? Nope. Annoyed yes. Foul language? Nope. I mentioned the breakfast awful, which it was. Turning up at my house is not the same as being a customer at your ‘farm’ shop. The other member of staff was not emptying bins, she was literally 4 feet behind you in the middle of the car park. Just accept it was a mistake to harass a paying member of your establishment and move on. The list of excuses are cringey. You’d gain credibility by admitting the error of judgement. We all make mistakes.
I just never understand small businesses that unnecessarily invite negative reviews. Let me start with why I visited this cafe for a breakfast. I live relatively local and thought I'd try a breakfast -- it was poor. Very cheap ingredients; disappointing as I expected farm shop ingredients. Now... I would never write a review jeopardising a small business regardless of the food sample. However... as I sat in my car, ready to drive away, a member of staff knocked on my window and stated that the water was curious as to why I was filming a tractor! I explained that I sent the tractor video (all 6 seconds of it) to my son as it looks like a vehicle from a video game he plays. I asked what I was doing wrong and she mentioned it was private property. What!! It's a farm with a tractor! Another member of staff was in the background e.g., had left her workplace and was interested also why u were filming a tractor. I'm curious, and here's a question for the management: what outcome did you want? I did ask this and was met with ‘the manager just wants to know. But what outcome did you want? Filming in public is not illegal, in particular, a tractor at a farm. why do you think it appropriate to cost a paying guest in their vehicle, and suggest I was a criminal or suspected of? What answer did you want from me? It.was an unnecessary interaction which merely does tour business harm. I will upload the personal video that I sent to my son (if possible) to show the ridiculousness of it. I also showed the member of your staff that I sent this -- again, in bringing on my privacy.
Breakfast is truly poor, which I didn’t want to mention, but it’s certainly deserved. Never ever stop a paying customer again for taking media of anything in public.
Lovely clean field site for camping. Staff lovely in café and also the cleaners we encountered. Two issues we felt the need to raise though. The toilets, my gosh they were grim. all weekend there was an issue of them backing up, and only 2 of them in the ladies, plus it wasn't busy with campers. I would not like to see them when the site was full. For a site of this size, this really does need addressing. Thank goodness for the lovely Café toilets. Moving on the the Café, lovely food, not too badly priced either, our only gripe is the sausages on the breakfast. You have a lovely farm shop with proper sausages next door why not put those on the breakfasts instead of the cheaper ones currently on it, or at least offer the proper sausages as an option maybe? We had a lovely weekend though, staff in the café were amazing and beautiful countryside to boot.
Checked the website before leaving home which confirmed the cafe was open on a Monday until 4pm. Cycled 25 miles there, arriving at 2.45pm only to be told by customers who were leaving that they had closed for the day because it was too quiet!
Sat in the car park for 10 minutes during which time others arrived to use the cafe without success.
This is a popular cafe with cyclists but I’ll never bother cycling out here again. I shall also let the other members of our cycling club know that the opening times are unreliable.
Expected a farm cafe to have proper sausages with their breakfast but had cheapo rusk sausages. Bought what looked like a freshly baked cookie, ended up being out of a packet. You expect better from little places like this.
Took some scones home which were home made and looked amazing, they were rock solid and dry.
