Double the price of other Chinese take-aways (£10 for a tray meal for one) for half the food you get from other take away's. Try the tray meals in Han Sing by Victoria Park for £5.40 and you get much more than from here for half the price and better quality.
Best Chinese in West Cardiff, Had my first Chinese meal in 1965 at the Ming Hong on St Johns Square. Tastes have changed through the years and has westernized leaving all the poorer.
Only ordered curry sauce, chicken rice and mushroom rice came to £18. Thought it should be nice and fresh then....no, chicken was hard and dry. Peas couldn't be eaten at all as they were so hard overcooked and reheated.
Disgusting ????
I excepted world class quality, considering the price but I got below average food. We are talking nearly double the price of other Chinese takeaways - which better food. Save yourself some time. The food was rather quick but still 1* for overvaluing the food.
Had food from here a few weeks back as a group but didn't look at the prices. Food was ok nothing wrong with it just,a normal eatable Chinese. Went in the other night for sweet & sour chicken and chips. I thought the sweet and sour chicken was expensive at £7 but I thought just, order it. Then I saw the price of chips £2.50 for regular. I left and drove down the road and,got the same meal for £2.40 less than this place and it was lovely. Won't be coming back to this, place.
An update to bring this up to date. Tried again today and still sn overpriced chinese. Chips were £3.00 which I might have accepted it they were quality potatoes. Wanted a pie but at 5pm on a Wednesday they had sold out of pies
They tried to sell me the tray meals. Rice chips 4 chicken balls and sauce for £10. Considering I can get this for £3+ cheaper from all the other chinese I walked out and went elsewhere.
I looked at the menu and all of the chinese dishes were £2 to £3 more expensive than all of the other Chinese takeaways, if they had quality or something else to show its worth it then maybe I would understand but at the moment I can get the same food down the road and save £4+ a head. Shame as I like to support my local
We ordered Peking Duck it comes with pancakes, veg bits, and hoisin sauce (no 88), the Crispy Roast Pork (no 3), and a battered sausage. All food was fresh and high quality. You won't get the same quality at other Chinese takeaways. We would go more often if it was cheaper so we'll go when we have more money. It is worth the money though and very tasty food =)
Amazing quality food. Food is always delicious and piping hot. The staff are really polite, and collection time for your order is always speedy. Would highly recommend!
The battered sausage was awful and clearly been sat a long time the batter was chewy and the sausage burt inside. Curry sauce went straight through the chips in a pool at the bottom of the tray! Not nice food.
