Best KPortal Reviews
I should have read the Google reviews before going! Another case of trying to be ripped off and overcharged by £8. The owners should be ashamed. Ordered a couple of large chips, but as you can see from the photo, it was far from large. Avoid these scammers. Definitely wouldn’t order fish - hygiene looks pretty poor too.
Fantastic chip shop .not just a chip shop but also a shop for everything you need .found them very helpful and very nice people.parking right outside the shop.
Fish are cooked fresh and chips were cooked just right for me .
I would recommend this chip shop for there food and get the odd bits you forgot to get from there as well.
Perhaps we arrived on a bad day, the atmosphere created by the serving staff member was one of being an inconvenience to her, stood in line as though being reprimanded by the school teacher for something we hadn’t done wrong, snappy and clearly irritated. Ordered Fish- hardly any fish inside an old, chewy batter that resembled the sole of a shoe, Large Chips- soft and soggy, a poor portion. Small peas- watery and tasted like cooked in sugar, curry sauce- passable, pie- Hollands, only needed heating up but pastry tough. And we paid £16.50 for this pleasure plus petrol. Fish and Chips is normally a treat, always look forward to it but disappointed this time. If you are going to charge these prices then it could at least be fresh and served with some degree of manners.
One of our party had been advised by a local that this chippy was 'not the best, but ok'. However, as it was the only place open locally after an evening walk we decided to risk it. So glad we did, the fish & chips were delicious and cooked perfectly. In fact the best fish & chips I have had for a long time. Very surprised to see the other bad reviews on here. However, there were ten of us and it was all freshly cooked, so maybe that was the difference. Price was about £10+ per person which seems fair to me.
We called in for fish and chips last Saturday, we were staying a short journey away, so returned to eat. On opening packaging the batter was stuck to the paper and the fish looked black in places. My husband tasted the fish and said it tasted not very nice. So we threw away 2 fish one very tiny portion of chips and a waterery curry sauce and mushy peas. Almost £20. Avoid at all costs.
My Wife and I had just visited her Mum in the nursing home nearby and my Wife wanted a bag of Chips, see what looked like a nice little Chippy.
Appearances can be deceptive, I was obviously a inconvenience that day and it showed in the meagre bag of chips I was given .
Each chip worked out to 10p each when I counted them up .
This was a Medium Bag .
I know everything has gone up in price, but seriously if you want customers to keep coming back look after them.
Disappointed is an understatement!!!
I will try and put a photo on just to show why we wasn’t happy.
I might possibly go back and hope for a bigger bag and give the owner a second chance!
Superb fish and chips cooked fresh while you wait. Note that they close at 7.00 pm outside the high season.
Overcharged by £5 and possibly the worse chipshop I've ever been to, especially the fish was small and overcooked, I was expecting so much more really
