Oh dear, I don't think I chose their best day for my breakfast experience. A bit rushed off their feet and making errors. Eggs Benedict but forgot to put any meat in it. Quickly repaired, poached eggs good, ham fresh and lovely, and actually, by then I had asked for some bacon on the side and this was well cooked and delicious too.
But two halves of a damp "pappy" English Muffin, which had only seen about 7 seconds of a toaster, and had then been spread with some sort of horrid tasting margarine. And to top it off, the Hollandaise sauce tasted of the same margarine. Really not good at all.
Lots to fix, in my opinion. Latte coffee, however, was outstanding. Creamy, smooth, mellow and fantastic.
Stopped by to grab a quick sandwich for work lunch, ended up coming back later in the day for a cuppa and a gingerbread man.
Firstly, the sandwich was delicious. Fresh rolls, crisp, cool salad and a whole range of classic fillings. Small, medium and large sizes all available for all appetites.
I've had two meringues and a gingerbread man and a cup of tea since and I'm really taken with the place.
The selection of cakes is incredible, it's a Tuesday afternoon and people are walking in and going 'Cooo!' when they see the cakes and, yes, it maybe a bit naughty but they look well worth the risk.
The staff are all super helpful, polite, positive and relaxed. The cafe is beautifully decorated and great value for money. Well worth stopping by if you've a chance.
We absolutely love it here, lots of food for the price and cheap, but also good quality.
We bought platters for the Kings Coronation to share for a tea party. Bread was really dry, like it had been left out uncovered, and the cream for the scones was off. When we brought this to the Management's attention, their response was that no one else had complained. We spent £60 on those platters and were really disappointed both with what we received and the response to our complaint. We had previously been good, regular customers and last Christmas bought fruit cakes and chocolate logs from them but haven't used them since.
Lovely afternoon tea at lotties very polite and helpfull staff. Then even dog friendly amazing food and cakes definitely go again.
Everything about our visit was EXCELLENT.
The food was exceptional & so much of it too x
Excellent full English breakfast minus eggs with mushrooms instead
Local takeaway sandwich shop now opened a tea room serving excellent range of meals and snacks. We had the sharing ploughman's at £15. Will be back.
