My family and friends have been to The Longhouse on a number of occasions and always had a really good Sunday roast. However last Sunday wasn't so good. Three of us booked for a late lunch but our meal didn't arrive for well over an hour and when it did we had to send it back as the beef was very tough. The second attempt was up to the usual high standard but then our pudding order was mixed up with another table and the correct order took another age to arrive. All this would have been forgotten if only a member of staff had apologized - they all seemed too busy!
Great Service and very good food. Our mains were just a little slow going out (Our server thought) , so we received a complimentary bread selection. All in all a nice experience, highly recommended!.
Poor table prep (no condiments), wine list not fully stocked, soup with focaccia had to ask twice for bread. Friends arrived beforehand and told only table for two was reserved when challenged by me they looked a bit harder "oh gosh we didn't see that". My 'pink' roast beef (I eat blue fillet and rare other cuts) and their raw roast beef are worlds apart.
Venue and decor good.
Understaffed the waitress were very friendly, the website menu was not the same as the night the garlic bread was dry. The sauce which was provecale on the seabass was very spicy. The mushroom on the steak with stuffing was very dry. We will not be attending the resraunt again or recommendin it.
Food is very tasty but expensive and pretentious. Focus on good quality food at decent prices rather than trying to charge as much as you can.
Fantastic. Starters were refined, mains brilliant and local. Sticky toffee pudding a winner. Lovely setting too
New refurb and managment, Lovely pint of Coors, staff friendly.
Will be coming back here for food as menu looks really nice.
