Great food and a decent cup of Yorkshire tea. Next to a small car park and beside Greenberfield Locks, this is a super place to stop, grab something to eat and drink, and site beside the Leeds & Liverpool canal. It is very close to the top lock so watching boats going up and down in the locks is also an option. Staff were very friendly and willing to have a chat about anything.
Lovely spot at the highest point of the Leeds Liverpool canal. Small car park, canal users' loos nearby, benches next to the canal, good range of snacks & drinks.
Brilliant place to start or pause for refreshments. No toilets? . Still wellworth a visit
Use this facility regularly but always found the lady grumpy and unsociable, this morning, waited to be served but got completely ignored whilst she talked to her neighbour, not cafe related or serving, waited a while but still no acknowledgement so I just turned around and walked away, and still no response from her. Use to enjoy calling here for a mid walk rest, but having put up with stale cakes, lukewarm drinks and ignorance service, this establishment will not get 1p from me until a change of ownership
I came to the Lock Stop Cafe at midday on my birthday with my partner on our bikes. In the evening my partner took me as a surprise to a fancy restaurant. So?
We both agree that the Lock Stop Cafe was much nicer, a nice variety of home made delicious sandwiches, nice cakes, nice location and very friendly and kind couple who run the cafe.
Lovely location with a real friendly service with a smile. Lots on the menu and a great place to visit on a quiet weekday or when the sun is blazing in the weekend. Parking can get busy so one idea is to make this place your destination along the canal, stop for an ice cream then head back! The locks make it an interesting place to sit and relax.
Lovely little cafe. Had a lovely walk along the canal to the locks which was very picturesque. We had intended to have breakfast but unfortunately for us they didn't do food on a Friday. We did manage to have a lovely coffee and piece of cake.
Not the same cafe as before. Seems to have different owners and a different attitude. There are no nice coffee sandwiches and savories accompanied with a chat and a smile. Now it is cheap coffee and cake, ice cream or fizzy drinks. No smile or friendly chat. Shame.
