I recently when here for the first time. WOW! The coffee is excellent, the pastries are amazing and staff are friendly. A genuine little bit of Portugal in West London. I had a Portuguese croissant, which are more like brioche, they have a bread like texture, firmer constancey but. Lovely and soft in the middle and a macchiato which was as good as I have ever had.
I bought an apple and custard pasty and 2 pastel de nata to take home (these were also superb) and come in a little box to avoid them getting crushed. The shop has a lovely authentic atmosphere that you only really get in places like this it is a meeting point for lots of different people to meet and talk and have a coffee and a pastry. If you have not been you are missing out. I will be back very soon.
Whenever I sit and have a morning latte at the Lisboa Patisserie, it is like a wonderful journey to the past, to what Golborne Road and Notting Hill used to be before becoming fancy areas. There is still a sense of community. Every day, you see the same people having a coffee and a chat, like old friends.
The place has not changed a bit in years, still looking like it was in the 90s, and I bless ???? them for it. The choice of freshly-made-big-sized pastries is amazing.
For less than 4 pounds, you get a latte in a glass and a gigantic, delicious chocolate croissant.
If you are looking for a non- touristic, -family-managed-old- style -cafe where to feel like home, a visit is a must.
Transported back to Portugal! The clinking glasses, array of Portuguese cakes and sandwiches evoke nostalgia. Plus, they craft exceptional birthday cakes.
The best pastel de nata outside of Lisbon! The pasteis are eggy and warm and crisp and there’s something really special in the atmosphere, packed full of Portuguese clientele, smelling of custard and coffee, and the sound of clinking spoons and chatter. Legend has it that they import water and flour from Portugal to ensure the quality of their bakes. I had a black coffee with a prawn croquette for breakfast and washed down with a pastel de nata for dessert - I’ll be returning often
There is usually a large queue but if you go before 9 you can generally avoid this. The Pastel de Nata are deliciously authentic, even better than some I have had in Portugal. It was very full and the pastry was nice and flaky. I also had an apple tart (honestly I couldn’t tell you proper pastry names) which was very good. Atmosphere was good, typical W10/11 vibes without the feeling of gentrification and yuppie shininess.
Lisboa Patisserie became my favourite portuguese food place in London.
As a Portuguese, coming inside the establishment felt just like going to my local patisserie where I live in Portugal. For some, it might look old-fashioned, but I come to believe the atmosphere and the aesthetic are one of the boldest ideas Lisboa Patisserie sells.
The white coloured bulbs, the vitrines stacked with pastries, all of them looking yellowish coming from the eggs, the milk, the butter and flour, the trays stacking upon each other with "Bolos de Rei". The cheap chairs, tables. The white washed tiles...
The sound of the water jet coming off the industrial espresso machine, the sound of ceramic espresso cups clashing, the banging of the portafilter banging on the knockbox, the ambiguous portuguese conversations happening all around...
I tried the pastel nata, and they were average tasting - not bad. I would recommend having the classic combo pastel de nata and espresso at the bar or sitting at a table having "jesuita" served alongside a "galão" while you appreciate the atmosphere - the taste of their pastries are nothing without it.
Best Pastéis de Nata , amazing taste, fluffy crispy pastry! Must try! Service could have been little bit friendlier…
Very authentic!
Beautiful place, amazing selection of bites, great coffee and lovely service. Always an A* experience here and simply can't resist popping in every time I walk by.
