Called in for breakfast - small venue in centre of village. Clean. Had standard full English. Freshly prepared. Quality ingredients (grilled bacon and tasty butchers sausage). Choice of breads. Very reasonably priced for good quality ingredients. Friendly staff. Dog friendly too. Recommended and would call again - well worth a detour off the A1!
Every once in a while I come across a gem and Lily's Lavender is one of them situated approx 10 mins from the A1M it is definitely worth a visit if you fancy a change from the A1M petrol station.
This little cafe ticks all the boxes, it is family run, uses local produce, provides services to the community, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. A little known fact about this cafe also is that it used to be the oldest wooden shop in Lincolnshire before it was refurbished. Most recently, it was voted one of Next Doors Neighbourhood Fav's 2023.
Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by the owners and shown to a table. The venue was full of cyclist's and locals and a pleasant atmosphere. I went for the Full English Breakfast, which was cooked fresh using local meat sourced by Ancaster Butchers and the coffee was small batch sourced from Brazil, which all tasted great.
This little cafe also provides WiFi, caters for events, sells local fruit, vegetables, bread & more and is known for its awesome bacon rolls. Not to be missed if you are either passing through the area or want a break away from the motorway.
I got the opportunity to meet with the owner whilst having breakfast and the establishment is named after her granddaughter. Its little small things that make it all come together and the reason why it has won an award for being the favourite of locals.
I love Lily's Lavender Hut. It's virtually halfway on my cycle route, and I stop there for sustenance. Most of the food is homemade, the staff are just so friendly and the food - cakes, rolls all freshly made. Excellent coffee and you can sit in or outside, never disappointed. It is always a very pleasant experience ????
Nice spot for coffee and a cake/ cob. A little premium in price for what you get. £6.50 for a bacon and egg cob and bottle of coke.
Great little place. very friendly staff
It's just the best service around. Excellent sausage bap and gallons of tea from a big pot! Love it!
Visited twice over the weekend. Quite simply the best tea rooms I've ever come across. Great service with friendly smiles, delicious food and a 'proper' pot of tea. The Stilton scones, gently warmed, are to die for!
John and Anne from Mansfield.
Friendly family run business. Apart from provisions you can get rates and drinks too. A great place for cyclists to replenish their energy.
