The most un welcoming and rude staff member/ Owner I have ever encountered.
I have worked in retail for many years and have never know anything like this. Other member of the public were also in shock at the rudeness and situation.
Such a shame this person ruined such a lovely day in Leyburn, which had a lovely community feeling and everyone else we met was so friendly.
I would highly recommend avoiding this person and shop and instead supporting one of the other lovely community businesses.
Let's be fair staff very pleasant.owner bit rude.both women couldn't be nicer.
I use this garage frequently and every single time, I am met with friendly, good humoured customer service. This sort of facility in a small town in the Dales should be appreciated and used, or else we will lose it as so many other fuel stations have been lost. Don't put people off by irrelevant poor reviews about cats!!
Bikers avoid this garage in Leyburn North Yorkshire at all costs!! Stopped with my Wife to fill up 2 bikes, bloke came out and said ‘I’ve had a biker drive off without paying and they owe me £8, and until it’s paid no more motorcyclists’. He told us we had to pay for said owed petrol before we could fill up, we told him why should we, it’s nowt to do with us, to which he replied you’re all motorcyclists. Gob smacked is an understatement!!! Needless to say we kindly declined to pay said debt and rode off ????????????
Hates bikes. Just done this to another Motorcyclist today. Tried to force the customer to pay for someone else’s fuel.
So.. We're at the Gulf garage in Leyburn.. About to fill up, the owner comes out to tell us a biker has riden off without paying £8.00
He will only sell petrol to bikers if they agree to pay £1 extra till he's got his £8 back.
This is discrimination and illegal, we will definitely not be using this petrol station again and we have shared and reported to numerous contacts .
There only getting one star because I can't go lower. Let's put it this way the most unhelpful people in leyburn. I've lived here all my life and never been treated like I had been today. My bank card was working fine this morning but when I filled my car with diesel my card didn't work this was at 3.35 in the afternoon, I was told that I was awkward and I should have got a new card but how am I meant to if I didn't know. Then he told me to give him my phone which I didn't have as I only went to pick the kids up from school. So I left my disabled badge. I then went back to town and went to coop as I couldn't use the bank as they were closed, the co.op were great and I got the £70 from them. I then went back and paid the horrible man who didn't say much. I have used this station 2 times a week and spend £200 pre week there for ages. I said I wish I didn't have to use to you again I was told don't bother we don't need your custom anyway. So great customer relations there... NOT. Please avoid if possible
Avoid at all costs. Owner is rude and lumps groups of people who don’t know each other together. Refused to serve until the debt of another unrelated motorcyclist who rode off was paid because “we are all the same”! Shocking behaviour. Would he stop serving cars if another drove off?
