I visited Laxtons with my daughters today to get vaccinations for an overseas trip. I telephoned prior to visiting and the Dr was more than happy to speak to me first. Getting an appointment was no trouble at such short notice. The Dr who administered the vaccines was extremely friendly and professional. He gave me lots of advise and provided reassurance to my apprehensive children. I would recommend this Pharmacy to anyone looking to get vaccinated, even just to get advise.
On Easter Sunday, due to an unexpected complication, a member of my household was left desperate for a certain therapeutic product (keeping this vague for their privacy!)
While every pharmacy on my local Hoddesdon high street was closed, I looked up Laxton's on Google and found that they were in fact open; headed down there on the bus and was served by a quietly friendly and helpful gentleman, and the day was essentially saved.
In short, thank you to Laxton's for being open when every other normally available option would have failed us.
Shocking service at Laxton's Pharmacy in Broxbourne, Herts. Complete ripoff.
I was desperate for some hearing aid batteries over the Christmas period as I had forgotten to bring some and I was a long way from home.
The first assistant sold me a pack of hearing aid batteries (6).
Soon after I realised all batteries in the pack had no orange covers over the batteries. I understand these covers should only be removed when you are ready to use the battery. Needless to say all batteries were dead!
I returned to the shop to another assistant who was argumentative and would not accept the batteries were dead. I told them all of them were as I had tested them and that the batteries should not be sold without an orange cover over the battery. He didn't accept this.
There were many packs of batteries on the shelf that were the same with no covers, however I found one pack with covers on so i bought these instead.
Normally each battery will last me two weeks. However I have noticed that these batteries are last 3 days. Having checked the expiry date on the back of the pack it states 07/2023 expiry. I bought them 12/2023.
I am writing this review in the hope the Pharmacy will review their practices and also to ensure no-one else is ripped off like I was including elderly people who may be hearing impaired and not aware of what they are buying.
The pharmacy team are very professional, caring and knowledgeable.
I would recommend this pharmacy and its excellent levels of service that it provides.

Attended for a travel clinic. The pharmacist Viral was great. He explained everything clearly and helped put us at ease. It's made us much more confident for our upcoming trip. Very easy to book a time that suited us online.
Usually a very friendly and efficent service.
However I was handed the wrong medication today! The implications of which could be very serious!! Not impressed and the person who handed it to me did not even apologise. Very disappointed. Please check your medication when handed over....
Great pharmacy had all of my medication ready (unlike another pharmacy in Hoddesdon who always had to order the same item every time when I collected repeat represcriptions) which always neant two trips there. Decided to change to Laxtons and I'm so glad I did.
Got my covid booster and flu jab the same time I went to collect my first prescription from them as well. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
Popped in there for emergency medication a while ago and the pharmacist couldn’t have been more friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble at all and instantly made me feel at ease. Great range of services, good stock, popped back there today for my regular medication as decided to change pharmacies from my old one, as such a sharp contrast in staff attitude, services, professionalism and courtesy.
They were very busy today when I picked my prescription up, but again, polite, friendly and proffessional, knowledgeable and courteous.
I had my blood pressure checked whilst there, and although busy, I had to wait a minimum of time and they read it correctly which put my mind at ease, after someone else at the previuos pharmacy had read both arms and they were different!
What a fabulous service and a gem, such a pleasure and relief for me to find somewhere friendly too and positive in attitude and plenty of staff available too.
Five stars to you all! Thankyou so very much.
