The Lantern Rouge is a nice, cycle themed cafe in Gifford. As such it is popular with cyclists. It can be very popular and sometimes there can be a queue at the door.
There's a good range of savoury snacks, sweet snacks and hot and cold drinks.
Service is nice and friendly.
Such a cool place, small, but full of character and interesting bike-related memorabilia. There's somewhere outside to lock up your bike and a friendly welcome from the owners.
I was only going to grab a coffee before a ride into the Lammermuirs, but the lure of the French Toast, bacon and maple syrup was too much! And it was worth it! Will definitely be back soon.
A lovely cafe in Gifford. A favourite with cyclists and is full of cycling paraphernalia. The staff are all really helpful and was delighted to be offered a refill on my coffee. The hot roll I ordered really hit the spot too. A charming place to stop for a mid-ride drink or as a destination in itself.
Lovely wee cafe with a cycling theme. Had the unusual peneton toastie - veggie haggis, jalapenos and cheese, surprisingly tasty! Worth the detour to find it.
Really lovely wee café for a sandwich, a cuppa and a scone. The staff were very welcoming on what was a dreich day! This was our first visit and we'll definitely be back.
Good flat whites and gorgeous coffee cake. Although we don’t have a dog, dog friendly places always seem more people friendly as well, and this is no exception. Super warm and welcoming atmosphere and lovely staff!
Nice cafe for a quick lunch. Unfortunately the service is very slow and there are no child sized options. Serving staff are very friendly and helpful.
An absolute gem. Lovely soup and quiche (I'm not usually a huge quiche person yet would wholeheartedly recommend it here!), delicious baking, great coffee. Quick service and super friendly staff, and our dog was made very welcome with a wee biscuit too. Very popular with the cyclists and I can see why!
