Good location, close to Fort William and Fort Augustus. Lovely lake with beautiful views towards the mountains. Great walking trails. Children and dog friendly. Public toilets and car park available.
Great stop along the Great Glen Way. Whether driving, cycling or down the Caledonian Canal.
This stage, the canal opens onto Loch Lochy and on to Corpach via Gairlochy. Fantastic scenery with the hills on either side.

Nice walk way from here to fort Augustus or cycle , stunning wee boat on the loch well worth a visit for a drink and meal
Such a beautiful little gem. Walk in the ancient forest and down by the Loch is a must.. A few pot holes in the car park but it's manageable.
Brilliant place for a cycle ride or a walk & there is the most wonderful "bar" here on a barge called The Eagle, brilliant to refresh your thirst or have a meal.
Very nice lock keeps. Worth the stop. Tea room has Very nice cakes and a distant size.
Worth a brief stop for photos as the views are great on a sunny day, and maybe to watch a boat going through the locks but otherwise there's not much else here. This could be a lovely place to stop for a picnic (there are some picnic tables) but there is an inexplicable (and inexcusable) lack of bins, public toilets, or drinking water taps. The coffee kiosk has a nice view of the loch and does decent coffee. The barge (Eagle Inn) is best avoided based on my experience of rude customer service.
