This is a, great place in keld in the Yorkshire dales there is a car park that costs £3 pounds for the day and a campsite DEATAILS of which I do not know and a small tea room in just outside .... The falls are a, short walk and there are a few winter and spring it is very slippery under foot... Summer is best times to visit if you want to swim as its a powerful water fall and a wilder place to get to with paths that are depending on route in some areas eroded..

Second time I have been here. Walked from Muker in a circular route and spent quite some time here at the falls. Had lunch here too and a few other people had the same idea. With a waterfall and a warm and mostly sunny day, I obviously had to go for a dip. The water was quite cold but as always when you do a spot of wild swimming, it is exhilarating. I found standing under the waterfall for a bit acclimatised me to the cold. Just watch out for the horse flies and make sure you apply insect repellent quickly after you come out of the water. They were all over me after I had finished my swim and didn’t bother me before my swim while I was eating lunch.

Did a 12 miles circular walk from postcode DL11 6QG. Along the route there are a series of amazing waterfalls, woodland walks, hills and scenery. Wonderful day out. Expect to come across some muddy terrain and people taking a plunge in the water. Note; the main waterfall (i am standing next to it) is very deep.

Absolutely stunning place. Back to back waterfalls both with deep enough water for you to jump if you wish.

We went the wrong way!! Being our first time there lol so here's how you get there..

Park up at rukins. Walk back out the way you drove in and down a foot path directly opposite. When the path splits. Take the right hand path up through a gate. When you get to a clearing by a cliff face there a small path down a drop off to the left follow this down to the falls.. and enjoy

Park in Keld where parking is only £3 all day, there are toilets and a lovely little café all on one site.

Then you can either walk up river, where loads of folk congregate after parking on the roadside and it gets crowded, or trek downstream for a more secluded swimming spot. Walk downhill to a little bridge then follow the right bank further down into the ravine. After a quarter of a mile scrambling over rocks and criss-crossing the river you are rewarded by a fantastic pair of sheltered pools with waterfalls. The upper pool has a wonderful jumping ledge into water that is extremely deep.

Not for the faint-hearted!

Lovely walk up the valley to a very gorgeous waterfall that was in full spate. Walk back was on a better path and Sadie under foot. Parking available at the village of Keld which makes it a 10minute walk to the falls. Still quite steep drop down the path going this way.

A truly spectacular place. The path to it was hard to find and we missed it twice as they're no sign post so... walk straight down from rukins and down the public path at the end of the village. When you get to a left/right turn, after the barn, go right! Left takes you to Eastgill force and up to crackpot Hall, be warned its a steep hill down and back up again, beautiful but tricky. Carry on on the right path until you reach a slightly more open spot where the path continues either to the right and up, or to the left it dips down to a grass clearing with a small trodden path leading through the trees. Follow the path through the trees and down to Kisdon Force.

A lovely visit on a beautiful day. Parking provided, by the local farmer I think, £2 all day, £1 for 2 hours if I remember correctly. There is a campsite there with toilets in the car park but we didn't use those instead walking up the road to a public toilet in the village. There is also a little cafe, which we didn't use, but it was self-service and a donation asked for in return for tea, coffee and home-made cakes!

We walked along to Kisdon force which consisted of two waterfalls, the first one being especially attractive, and there were two seats above the waterfalls, on a grassy area. We climbed up the rocks on the first waterfall and then up the grass to the track above but there is a path too, quite steep on one very short section. You can then continue your walk into the hills. We only went a little way and stopped for a picnic.

There are at least two other sets of waterfalls, one slightly further up the river and another in the opposite direction, which we didn't see. We visited the village/hamlet of Keld on the offchance so weren't prepared for a full-on visit which was a pity as I'm sure a longer visit would have been worthwhile.

We drove via the Buttertubs pass which is a great way to approach from.
