Not sure Google got this one right. I stopped in a muddy off-road spot next to the woods to take photos of the bluebells. It wasn't large enough to get my whole car off the road and certainly not large enough for two cars. On the plus side it was free and the bluebells gorgeous!
The free and sizeable car park was easy to locate using Google Maps. An extensive woodland with waymarked paths rich with beech and sweet chestnut coppice. Also a stunning abundance of bluebells this time of year.
Great forest walk. I did an 8 mile circular with the dogs but you can do more or less depending on your fitness
Lovely place for a woodland walk, although a large car park it might be busy on sunny weekends.
Safe car park with lots of space for plenty of cars. Conveniently located for the forest walks. There are no lights in the car park however, so if you plan to come back from your walk after sun down, bring a torch.
Lovely woods, with various paths for different abilities. Nice day out for all ages.
Lots of parking, great bluebell woodland
Beautiful large wood to explore in , a number of sculptures to see. Can be very muddy so wear appropriate footwear!
The car park is just a car park. But the wood is one of my favourites. It's perfect for dog walking and our dog loves it. You can either stick to the main paths or wander off up the numerous side tracks. It's possible to walk miles and not see or even hear another person even though they're in there somewhere! The woods are a lovely mixture of deciduous and coniferous trees, some more regimented than others. Whether you want a quick stroll or a full blown hike, this wood does the trick.
