Best KPortal Reviews
The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Arrived to everything locked up. Eventually got let into the hotel. Was only shown a back enterance, rubbish all around including crockery, glasses. Hotel did not feel clean on the way to the bedroom. The bedding did look clean and fresh. The shower had mould a broken handle and broken toilet handle. On the second morning there was no one to provide breakfast. The cleaner eventually arrived, she went to get the chef. She was not able to find him. We left with no breakfast. I would not recommend staying here at all.
I have never bothered to write a review on a place until today (but this has spurred me to write a strong positive for a lovely restaurant we went to elsewhere on the trip!)||Party downstairs under 1.5hrs after closing (12:30am). Shook the building until then.||Booking for two had one towel, and no soap or any toiletries.||'Continental breakfast' was one of those little boxes of cereal - with only one bowl for two guests; so I couldn't eat it anyway.||Blocked shower had water up to ankles.||No milk in the room for tea/coffee.||Room and breakfast came with no drinks, so I missed my morning medication interval.||Most of the fixtures were hanging off the wall/door.||No one was at the hotel when we left, so we couldn't give constructive feedback, or ask for that drink we didn't get.||This is the worst hotel I have ever been to by some distance, and I've stayed in American motels which cost 1/4 of the price.||They need a revamp, including some guidance on caring about the guests, rather than just keeping overheads outrageously low.
Loud music was very audible in the room until about 3am. It was far beyond the normal level you'd expect above a pub, and went on much longer. If you're looking for a night out, or don't plan to go to sleep until sunrise, then this place is fine. But it doesn't serve its purpose as a hotel for anyone wanting to keep normal hours. The staff and locals were really friendly, but we left a day earlier than planned because we didn't want another night of partying.
Okay, so it is not 5-star accommodation, and it is not pretending to be. It was perfectly adequate for us, and I was very reasonably priced. Maybe it was a little bit tired in places but it's an old building and we had just come out of a lock down and there might not have been the money to do everything the owners wanted to do with it, but that certainly didn't spoil our stay. We were made very welcome by the owners and of course it is a pub as well, so you don't have to go very far for a drink. The breakfast was a self serve continental style with a great choice. Everything is kept in a fridge so just go in and help yourself when ready. Cereals, yogurts tea and coffee. There is also a large toaster for you to use. There is a big car park on site and we had no problems parking. The owners let us park all day after we left while we did the next bit of the walk, which was good of them. It is perfectly placed if you're doing the Cotswolds way. I wouldn't have any problems staying here again or recommending it.
Traditional village pub with a good selection of drinks and food at great prices. There is a large car park which is great when using the overnight accomodation, also pool table area, skittle alley and outdoor seating area at the frontage of the pub. The staff and locals were friendly when we visited and feels a decent place overall.
The room had not been cleaned from the last guest. The bed had been slept in, the sheet and duvet were dirty. The pillows had head indentations! The bathroom had not had a good clean or even a clean until my mum and I cleaned it. The bath had soap scum round it and the sink had scum around and under the anti bac soap!! Why didn't I complain you're asking? Good question.. I was tired from a really long drive so I said the sheets were filthy and could I have a new one. The landlady said she had had problems with the laundry which is rubbish! Anyway, we went to the local shop and bought cleaning products. Cleaned the room, lay a sheet on the bed and slept in our clothes! Covid rules of any description do not apply here! In fact, hygiene rules were out the window. The bar had a strange smell like rotten onions. The jukebox had a good selection of tunes. The couple that ran it were friendly enough, but are in severe need of training. Doors slammed all night until a fight broke out and it all went quiet. This is a really awful place to stay. Please feel free to blow the photos up! The tea and coffee facilities looked exactly as the photo when I walked in. Never in my life have I stopped in something so bad.
Dreadful experience, room was dirty ,electric sockets not working and not secure in the wall. Bathroom extractor fan so noisy you wouldn't want to use the light in the night. Told on arrival that the chef had left so we would have to make our own breakfast. When we asked to change rooms we were advised the alternative room was over the bar and there would be Karaoke that evening and it would be very noisy until after 1am!!!
Decided to cut our losses and walked out went to near by Travel Lodge which was excellent. This place should not be open for business, requires a refit and new management
Avoid this place at all costs. We were going to stay here for 4 nights as we were going to Cheltenham races for 2 days. As you can see from the photos the bed, toilet, kettle were filthy. The bed had stains on the duvet sheets and pillows. ‘Continental’ breakfast was literally cereal in small boxes and 4pints of milk in a chiller. No bread for toast. No food being served and only a Chinese takeaway in the village. We got the bus in stone house village. Upon our return, the door was bolted at 8! Had to call the pub for them to open the door. We sat in the bar and had a couple of drinks. We then went up to our room and the manager turned the music up in the bar very loudly. There were no customers in the bar at this time.||||We left first thing the next morning and didn’t go to the races as we just wanted to get home and showered as we felt grubby!||||It’s doesn’t even deserve a 1 rating….
