Fantastic Sunday dinner including vegan nut roast which was delicious. Great real ale and great value for money all round. Highly recommend this friedly village inn. No stars for rooms as didn't stay over.
Update - April 2024
Looks like it's been taken over and had a complete refurbishment inside.
Very friendly and welcoming girl behind the bar, who came over and chatted to us.
Never ate on this occasion, but will do on next visit.

Friendly and welcoming staff
Prices reasonable
First meal with the new landlord in post. Fantastic food, beer well stored and a lovely atmosphere
On a visit to the Lake District And getting hungry my friend and I stopped at the Kings Arms . We were welcomed by the owner and on ordering drinks were able to warm ourselves by the log burner. It was cosy and homely. We were shown through to the dining room and our food arrived and what a banquet. I had three courses and the roast beef just melted in your mouth. I chose the soup for starter and the pecan pie for dessert. The price was excellent. When the area , go there to eat you won’t be disappointed .|Jean Martyn BGT finalist 2011
I stayed here for one night for work, but it is well located for visitors to the Lakes. This a great hotel in a quaint village. My room was comfortable and well equipped and great value at £55. Cooked breakfast was great! There is a good selection of hearty food on the menu - my lasagna and chocolate fondant were lovely and inexpensive. Ian who greeted me on my arrival and served my dinner and breakfast is super efficient and very friendly. Recommended!
We booked most of the pub out for our wedding guests two 2 weeks ago - some relatives stayed 3-4 days, including one elderly relative with very limited mobility who stayed in the disabled-access room. Everything was brilliant from start to finish, the rooms were great, breakfast was great, lots of people had lunch or evening meals and found the food to be excellent. Room service for my elderly relative was no problem at all. The team there could not have done more to look after people, it really was great and we are so appreciative to Sharon, the manager, and all her staff
Great place, new manager with great staff. Our Dalton room was clean with a great bathroom.
Very dog friendly, great beer and food.
Best of all at breakfast they ask if our dog would like a sausage.
The pub does need a lick of paint but it is a real locals pub and the team of staff well coming, friendly and so hard working.
They are a credit to the pub company.
Hotel is well located, close to the lakes and has a great parking, really practical.
Staff is nice and friendly, food is great, really good and affordable.
Hotel room is quiet, beds are comfortable but sadly it's a bit old. The decoration could use a revamp and the bathroom could be cleaner, there was some mold inside the shower that could easily be removed. Rest of the room was clean.
