Decent chips but not the cheapest- £5 for a large portion, but I suppose that's probably average now. Chips were coated and fried well and size were much bigger than usual. Owner told me that battered sausage was halal, so tried this too and this didn't disappoint at all, crisp and perfect. Service could have been quicker but probably worth the wait. Card payments taken and inside had very cool rustic vibe. Not best chippy I've ever been to but will visit again.

I went in to get sausage n chips open when I went to put salt n vinegar on my food I noticed hair dust n fluff fibres on white paper where they wrap chips in I told the bold guy he asked John to fetch his glasses he also saw this but blamed his colleague John of scratching his head he tried to blame him I'm obvs not a stupid person I know this was a dirty shop full of dust n dirt if this wasn't the case he wouldn't of given my money back so I can leave the shop as there was another customer just bought her food he didn't want her to make a fuss but after I left she didn't leave out behind me so she must of also wanted to check her food please make sure you dnt get your food wrapped in dusty dirty food wrap paper look before you buy or avoid all together.
The batter of the cod was soggy and not tasty at all. Chips were nice. All cooked fresh, portions generous. As a woman, I don’t feel particularly comfortable in their shop waiting for food, especially around the man who stands on the other side of the counter. Maybe it’s just me but both times I have been, I didn’t feel comfortable there alone.
I dont know what the sausage is made of.. but its black and tough as old boots. My kids aint fussy but they couldnt even eat it.
We all like the fat chips from a chip shop.. but these were to big and under cooked.

I have to say the best Fish and Chip shop I have been to. Absolutely fantastic food and superb service from a genuine bloke who has run shop for 56 years. Traditional and highly recommended...
All I had was chips but this will get 5 stars, why?
They take card which barely any fish and chip places do
Cheap and generous for a portion of fries

Free ketchup, mayo, salt and vinegar on the counter where we can help our selves for free
Almost every fish and chip place do not fill these criteria’s.
Will visit again and try out new stuff.
