The food was either a big hit or a miss for me. The homemade taramasalata was so amazing; I would recommend coming here just for that and meat dishes like the lamb shank. It was massive, tasty & tender, along with the doner meat being a great portion and tasty to satisfy big appetites. The service was good with a nice waiter and the atmosphere was dimly lit.
However the lamb meat ball from the hot meze was unfortunately overdone and dry I couldn't eat it as it was so tough. I didn't enjoy the taste of the traditional sausage that much, just 2 very thin slices and it was all served on some brown lettuce.... The prices are a little high in my opinion for the area but the main portion sizes make up for it.
This really is pretty terrible. The food was less than average. Service was reasonable. The place looks a bit dirty and in need of a good refresh.
It is far too expensive for the quality and portion size, most things were dry and over cooked, or burnt. The fact that they are happy to plonk the plate of burnt food down on your table speaks volumes. The are so many places like this on the area that it's not worth even trying this place.
They need to put in a lot of effort to make things better.
A friend suggested this place one weekday evening, and we went without a reservation. Despite being busy they managed to squeeze us in and to be honest I wasn't prepared for just how good the food was. I had the lamb shank, which came with large, delicious sides of salad and potatoes (see photo). The shank itself was the best I've had for decades - perfectly spiced, amazing flavour, and it fell off the bone. My friend was just as happy with his doner kebab. Service was friendly, and it wasn't overpriced. Highly recommended.
A really lovely family run restaurant, very good food, must try the seafood platter (had to pre-order) and mixed grill, 10 out of 10! Thankyou????????❤️
Been here many times, but over years the quality, portion size and service has gone down hill. Experience this time was Terrible. Had a table for 6 and waited well over an hour for our meals (only doner & salad) nothing elaborate- even had to ask twice when wound the food be ready. When it finally arrived, two of the meals were stone cold and had to be sent back, plus they forgot one order all together. The staff are miserable and unfriendly. They were also too busy with the Uber Eats/Takeaway service to be bothered with the customers in the restaurant. I prefer to support an independent, but wont be back. Rox next door will have my custom from now on.
Firstly, we have been supporting this restaurant since it opened.
Ordered the meals with a request that the mixed donor was to be well done, the same as each visit.
The waiter replied that he likes that way,
Well, the donor was very lightly cooked, not return visit by the waiter to check the food was all good. The chips were okay, and the salad bowl. Did not touch the donor. Informed the waiter. The bill was full price and needed to return to the restaurant 5 minutes later as overcharged as well. £5.00.
This is the last time we will be visiting this place.
It's time to find somewhere else. £65.00 and going home hungry.
We mostly choose this great restaurant for our special occasion and celebration. Our last time was as always a huge hit. We enjoyed the Steak (cooked to absolute perfection, as a steak should be ,melt in the mouth perfect)and potato's with a side salad and delicious souces. Service was again as usual with attention to detail. Thank you Ziyafet team for making our special ocasiones so special ???? We highly recommend this venue.I add extra 5 star ???? ????????????????
My friends and I went at lunchtime today 8th Feb 2024 . This was my first visit, though one of our party is a regular visitor and was her recommendation that we booked a table .
We all chose different meals, from the very reasonably priced two course lunchtime menu, which had good choices of Vegetarian options too.
The service was friendly, swift and unobtrusive.
When asked if they had any Biscoff to go with the lovely Coffee, they even went out and bought some especially !
We all agreed we had a tasty lunch and would be back .
Two courses and coffee £21 each !
There were some lovely looking desserts on the Menu, but we was too full from the plentiful and freshly prepared lunch .
