New to the area, so this Saturday was our first visit to the shop.
Served by a lovely lady who made us very welcome. We bought a selection of fish and other stuff.
The hot smoked salmon was out of this world lovely and the Arbroath Smokie equally gorgeous!
Haven’t got round to eating the rest yet, but looking forward to it!
We will be back very soon!

Variety of fish is amazing. Love a proper fishmongers and the fish couldn't be any fresher as it's right next to the river mouth leading out to the North Sea. Staff very kind and knowledgeable. Always go in when up at Thurso.
If you want fresh Fish, this is the only place in town.
If your looking for freshly caught fish whilst your in thurso its a must place to visit all locally caught down by the harbour ????????
Visited today and found exactly what we were looking for, fresh tiger prawns and scallops. I then spied arbroath smokies, hot smoked salmon and Stornoway black pudding. After that I had to get out quick before I bought half the shop. Needless to say a great range of products and excellent customer service.
What a dismal experience in McKay's fishmongers. Took ages to be served despite no customers in shop. No sea bass fillets and lady couldn't suggest a similar alternative! 'Don't know'. Another customer entered the shop and instead of asking him to wait outside, she asked one of us to leave! I'd give 5 stars for the quality of the fish, but customer service 0. We won't be back.
Never been to a fishmongers before where they wrap the fish, put it in a bag and then weigh it. Still maybe they're skint.
