I won't rate this place much because I think it is an event venue and I just stopped for a drink. The beer was off, but the server was fine. It's directly under the flight path of Heathrow Airport so it's a tough gig.
Slightly grubby with a smell of late night boozer. Beer tasted odd. Food is basic burger fare. Cheesy chips are covered in cold cheese sauce from a bottle, American spray cheese style. Not nice.
Location is not so good if you are wanting to use the tubes to get into the centre of London, we were walking for hours. There was zero nightlife but we did go on a Sunday. There’s a big selection of shops about 30 minutes walk. The guy behind the bar showed us to our room, he was lovely, he even pushed our beds together for us as we had a twin instead of a double. Room was big enough, although near the airport we didn’t hear the planes during the night. Room was clean. Only issue was we were given a hand towel between us, I asked the cleaner for a bigger towel and she didn’t have one. Overall: you get what you paid for.. £35 for a night was definitely worth it.
Me and my son went over for the premiership finals at twickenham, my wife booked the jolly Waggoner because of the proximity to the stadium . As a place to stay it was adequate , room was ok , we used it as a place to sleep only , the room was clean , tv worked well , tea and coffee etc . We stayed for three days , we were not offered clean towels , extra tea coffee . Breakfast was a strange one ! We paid up front for the three days . We were told the breakfast was buffet , it wasent , the first morning breakfast was ok , cheap ingredients , but edible , the second day we had trouble getting in to the restaurant because there were rails full of clothes blocking the door , there was more choice , but the cold meats and cheese were warm! Jam left in a mostly empty jar, of tesco value . We were served soggy chips ,with the again cheap breakfast . On the last day the restaurant was looked , so we went elsewhere . ||Forgot to add the shower was inconsistent , one day hot , one day cold .||There was also a problem with ants in the restaurant too. ||At the end of the day , it’s not a four star hotel , don’t expect a luxurious stay , it’s basic , as a base , somewhere to sleep it’s ok , it’s in a high traffic area and on the heathrow flight path so expect noise ! ||Tube is a twenty minute walk away , plenty of shops and takeaways nearby .||The staff were triendly enough , but the place needs to decide what it wants to be , more attention to detail .
I had booked this from Booking.com as one of their deals of the day, so despite it being only £35 I wasn’t alarmed as I’ve had good discounted deals from them before.|Once I arrived, it was immediately evident that the public house is under renovation. I had to check in at the restaurant as the front part of the building was bare & looked like work was being done. The man on reception was chatty & pleasant & escorted me to my room which was via what I can only describe as a disabled lift that moved extremely slowly & again looked like it was under construction & not overly safe. The decor in the hallways was ok, if a little on the old side but that’s not something that bothered me at the time. I was then shown to my room & told if I needed anything to go down to reception & ask. It honestly took me a few moments after he had left for the actual horror of this room to sink in. Firstly it stunk of damp & old bedding, which once I had dared to smell clearly hadn’t seen washing detergent in months, the pillowcase was stained & smelled of dirty hair. The bed looked like something I would have placed in a prison with a metal frame & I would have preferred to have sat on the floor if that too hadn’t been filthy dirty. There was a kettle with a few tea bags next to the bed & the plug was stained brown & sticky to the touch. There was thick mould round the windows & holes in the wall & the bathroom was simply disgusting. The bath mat was filthy with dirt underneath it & the bin next to the toilet was surrounded by rusty marks which hadn’t even been attempted to clean up. I left absolutely horrified & went to use the lift. This appeared to have a lock on & I couldn’t access it so I looked for another way out. I had every intention of leaving there & then so I had my large suitcase with me. I then found the ‘stairs’ which were actually sign posted as the way out so you can imagine my surprise when an extremely steep staircase greeted me. Again this looked like it had just been re built & was seriously precarious to get my suitcase down. It had banisters either side which helped slightly but was still extremely difficult to manoeuvre a large case down, something I assume most guests would have too. At the bottom their was a box to put keys in as you departed so it was definitely intended to be used despite its steepness. I went straight to reception & asked for my money back and showed the guy on reception the photos I had taken. He seemed to understand but also seemed pretty annoyed with me which he found difficult to hide, it turns out I’d interrupted his break.. He said he would show me another room, which I eventually agreed to look at as I’d been travelling for hours & just wanted to sleep! This room, although slightly cleaner still stunk of damp, & when I smelt the bedding it once again smelled of dirty bodies & hair with at which point I’d had enough. I then had an extremely uncomfortable ride back down in the slowest elevator on earth ( it does unlock, he’d forgotten to show me the first time so nearly falling down stairs could have been avoided) where he just looked at the floor & looked utterly fed up with me!|I was given a full refund which was the right thing to do by them & I appreciated this (after being offered ANOTHER room but this was not an option as I’d just had enough) but then several days later I received an e mail from booking.com saying the hotel had said I hadn’t even bothered to show up which is NOT TRUE.|I would avoid this place like the plague. Filthy & dirty, dangerous stairs & plugs & full of damp. I’ve seen better toilets than this.
Went to this hotel a few months back. The room was disgusting! It lacked in cleaning majorly. When using the shower it will continue to keep getting blocked by the filthy hair stuck in the drains from the previous people who had stayed! This seemed like it has not been cleaned in ages, weeks even. I do believe they do not have professional cleaners for this hotel as I had never seen one at the time when I stayed. ||||Once we checked out of the hotel, a few days later I receive a text from my bank saying that this hotel had charged me £150.00 I was livid! How dare they take out money from my account without any consent. ||||I contacted the hotel and explained to them as to why this had happened as I payed in cash on arrival. So there was no reason for them to charge me such amount. Once I spoken to someone from the hotel they explained to me that I had broken the pump for the toilet and left a mug down the bog' How professional! This was a LIE as me & my partner used the facilities before checking out, & it was completely working fine with no mug down the toilet. ||||I knew from there that this was completely wrong for a hotel to charge someone without consent. I had challenged this hotel as to why they had never contacted me to state these so called facts. The cheek of them had said because I had booked through booking.com it deletes my phone number when I check out. Then I said what about my email address? They said it deletes ALL data from a user. SO HOW CAN THEY KEEP MY BANK DETAILS!?! Absolutely the most unprofessional money grabbing thieves I have ever come across. ||||||Watch out people!! DO NOT BOOK HERE!
I stayed in a 4 star hotel nearby, but went to explore the area. I just wanted a drink in a bar, and seing as this premises was a pub/bar/restaurant I went inside. I was with my cousin who lived in the area as a child and remembered the pub from his youth. He was rather keen to visit.||The staff were not very friendly and the premises was uninviting. On entry you find yourself in a huge empty function room with stacked chairs. There is a room at the back which is 'laid up as a restaurant'. We only wanted a drink and the barman said we could sit at a table and promptly gave us a menu. I wanted to leave but my cousin for reasons stated above wanted to stay so he bought some drinks and we sat in the empty function room. I think he was disappointed and we left shortly after. Atmoshere cold and would not return
We stayed at this hotel in room 3 as we were flying to New York from Heathrow. We had had a very stressful day as we had inches of snow in Birmingham and every form of transport had been cancelled. So our only option was to drive in severe snow and stop near Heathrow. The hotel seemed diserted when we checked in barstaff gave us our key to room 3.||The room was freezing cold and very noisy and overlooked the main road. The window was broken and had a walkers crisps box sellotaped to the window. The roof was all leaking throughout hotel with couple of buckets which wasn't enough to catch all the leaks so floor was soaking wet and very slippy we had to leave early so wasn't able to speak to staff to complain.||Disgusting hotel avoid.
