Great place for a takeaway coffee before or after the ferry. I also had a delicious almond croissant and bought a packet of Westray Bakehouse flakey biscuits for the journey. The staff are really friendly. Highly recommended.
We stumbled on this place after the kids asked for ice cream. I googled and thankfully ignores a couple of the more prominent but worse reviewed locations.
Here they make their own flavours and have some that are very unique. As much as I enjoy the normal brands you can get it’s great to see somewhere doing something different and pulling it off.
The flat white was also very nice and the server was friendly very helpful.
I wish I had tried the sea buckthorn - next time!

Quiche
No prices advertised. Got 2 flat whites which were incredibly small and 2 bacon & tattie scone rolls (2pieces of bacon) £15. Bang average.
No sit in, small table outside for 2.
Cakes looked OK though
Coffee and pastries fine. Service with a smile wouldn't go amiss. We all have off days, but if you're in a service industry, you should at least try to not make a customer feel they're intruding. The woman serving was so 'off' I actually asked if they were having a bad Monday! After which she at least warmed up a bit. Hence, the 2* instead of 1. A far warmer welcome was received at a different cafe around the corner, so that will be my go-to next time I'm visiting.
Lovely service, great tea selections! Had a homemade white chocolate cookie which wasn't great but everything else looked delicious!
Soups were great, had tomato and my partner had the Salmon Chowder which was well received!
Delicious Brazilian burger. Fresh, tasty and creative salad, freshly made hummus, probably the best burger bun I've ever had too. For a small, unobtrusive little cafe and out of season the quality is top notch. Fantastic fresh coffee.
Great little cafe/deli (right opposite The Seafood Shack) with helpful staff and plenty of choice to buy for stocking up, for gifts, or for a quick takeaway or meal. They also have a good selection for vegetarians and vegans ... and delicious ice cream!
