We had a takeaway to celebrate a family member moving nearby and I was impressed with the meal!
We didn't have to wait long to order and the food came pretty quickly, it's also very close to where a family member is moving to so will be a local to them!
We all ordered chips, sausages, fried rice and fish; I thought the chips were some of the best I've had in quite a while, given how the last couple of takeaways I've had elsewhere haven't been that nice, the fried rice and sausage delicious and filling, as well as flavourful.
For seven of us, it came to just over £30 which wasn't too bad especially for what we ordered.
We will definitely consider coming back here again in the future!

Great food, decent sized portions, always the go to for a cheeky treat meal
Didn't know this place existed until I was talking to my neighbour and said about chippies that are still open delivering meals. She said it was the best so I ordered my meals and within no time they were delivered piping hot to our doorstep. (within a 1/3rd of the time of our usual chippy)
Wife was very happy with her veg curry and we were very happy with our fish dinners.
Now we have a menu, they have new customers.

Can't say what the food is like, after waiting for 10 minutes to be served and being ignored by the staff as they prepared telephone orders when l got tired of waiting l left and went to gateacre village and was served with fresh hot food. My advice to anyone going to this takeaway don't, save your time and find something elsewhere. You'll be eating your food a good deal sooner by going further.
Johns supper bar the food they cook is really tasty. The chiips can be a bit nasty at times or warm ups might be a better word. One thing I can say is that they are constantly busy in there at times and you cannot place a phone order at times because of this which I suppose reflects how good tbe meals are there. I mainly get the Barbercued ribs in salt and Pepper ribs which are lovely but quite often you will get some ribs that are just fat on them . But it is a decent chippy
Waited over 40 minutes for a portion of chips and a sausage.
Staff all rude and stood there chatting and serving other people they know before the customers who were in line before them.
Advise never to go there if don’t want to wait for ages for a simple order
