Found this gem a while back and I can honestly say, it really is authentic Jamaica food that will have you wanting more. The pictures speak for themselves 10/10. My personal favourite is Brown Stew Beef! Highly recommend giving 'Joe's Hut' try ????
Just been to visit Joe's Hut at Cleethorpes Grub Fest. I had the curried goat and I was NOT disappointed. The flavours in this curry were absolutely beautiful, the meat fell apart and the fact it was served with rice and peas AND steamed veg just complimented the food perfectly. Will definitely be using these again in the near future. This pic doesn't do it justice
I gave two, and three, stars because they fail to keep stock of main meals. So, all the good stuff is always out of stock. I can't understand their concept of running a business. I've only ordered the one time, as the next three times I tried to order, again, they had no stock!!! Crazy, or lazy. Who knows!!!?
First time I've had jamaican food and it was great, thanks for a great meal.
Tried Joe's hut tonight and the food and service was wonderful. I can definitely recommend the Jerk Chicken which was well cooked and flavourful. It was spicy and aromatic and the sauce was amazing. I will definitely be returning. When I went to pick up my food the place was also spotlessly clean and of course it smelled of wonderful Jamaican food which made me even hungrier!!
Small restaurant, spotlessly clean with a view into the kitchen so nothing is hidden. Staff fast friendly and courteous. Food is authentic Jamaican home cooking, Rice and Beans with stewed chicken is a must, absolutely delicious. Asked for Scotch Bonnet chili on the side, plus extra gravy, both given with a smile. Prices are great, will definitely go back when the Jamaican urge rises again
Wanted to try something different found this place. Was a great atmosphere inside with good service and excellent food, will definitely return
I tried Joe's Hut for the first time today as a treat, and a treat it really was! I tried the curried goat with fried dumplings & fried plantain with good-old ginger beer to wash it down! The curry was cooked to perfection...Not too hot (as one would expect with Scotch Bonnet chilies) but not mild and without flavour either...the perfect compromise between having a deliciously tasty 'kick' to it without overpowering your senses. The goat was also very tender and soaked up the flavours of the curry. I love plantain and this was one of the best I have had! Very soft and a great alternative to the usual chips. The restaurant itself was clean, tidy & had an authentic appearance and the owners were also lovely. It's refreshing to have diverse flavours in the heart of town, and I strongly recommend you support these local, independent restauranteurs - who's passion for cooking comes across in every mouthful - with your custom, over the usual bland chain restaurants serving bland, greasy food.
