Complete incompetence
Prescription issued 2 April, I go to collect on 15 April only to be told they’re out of stock - if so they should inform customer immediately. Am issued with a token so should be able to go to another pharmacy for prescription.
Go to Avicenna just off Windsor Road to be told that Jhoots have not released prescription onto system even ‘tho they said they had. Phone Jhoots several times, no answer so have to go back to them where they finally release the prescription. Whilst I’m waiting to speak to them there I phone their number to see what happens - all the staff ignore the phone.
Return to Avicenna and get my prescription with a smile. Am now switching to them permanently even ‘tho they’re 3 miles from my house compared to Jhoots 0.4 miles.
After returning from Mexico, I experienced severe illness for four weeks. Seeking assistance, I was referred to this pharmacy by the 111 service. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet my expectations. Upon arrival, the pharmacy staff relied heavily on a flowchart to assess my condition. Despite the severity of my symptoms, I was informed that I did not meet the criteria outlined in their flowchart for further assistance or medication.
Feeling unresolved, I subsequently sought help from the A&E department, where I was promptly prescribed antibiotics. This intervention finally addressed my condition, suggesting that my situation required more immediate and direct medical attention than what was offered at the pharmacy.
I would advise potential customers to consider the limitations of this pharmacy's protocol-based approach, especially in cases of severe or complex health issues. While the staff may have been following their standard procedures, my experience highlights a gap in accommodating urgent or non-standard health concerns. In urgent health matters, it might be more effective to seek direct medical advice from a hospital or clinic.
I should have read the reviews and stood clear of this place because the service was horrendous - an individual answer the phone and could not understand the English that was coming out of my mouth and for the life of me, I could not understand what they were saying.
In the end I had to contact my surgery and have them redirect my prescription to another but more reputable pharmacy.
I should have gone to Specsavers and read the reviews because the reviews are evidently spot on - this pharmacy offers shockingly bad service.
You guys are definitely making a bad name for yourselves... -1000000 pts.
Moved here as Rowlands in the coop closed and also Boots in old town.
This pharmacy is far better than both previous pharmacies.
Prescriptions ready within 3 days of ordering, previous pharmacies I waited over 2 weeks.
Staff very helpful.
Highly recommend
We had to move to a different pharmacy as Rowlands in Old Town closed. Reading some of the reviews for Jhoots we were a litttle worried about the service we would receive. We are so glad that we ignored the reviews and decided to try Jhoots ourselves. We have had nothing but polite, extremely helpful service from the excellent Pharmacist and his staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they do everything they can to help and advise on medication. We are happy to give Jhoots Okus Road FIVE stars. Thank you Pharmacist, please keep up the good work.
If I could give this pharmacy no stars at all I would. The service is slow. No one answers phone calls. There’s always a few ladies in the pharmacy and not at least one of them has the decency to come to serve, yet they stair at you like a criminal. The only good things about the pharmacy is the pharmacist
I am so grateful that I don't have to rely on this business for anything important. Every time that I visited, there was a problem. I went there on a Saturday morning, and it was shut (well, nobody needs to buy medicines at weekends, do they?). I went again the following Monday and it was closed because there was no pharmacist available. On the few occasions when I found them open, they didn't have what I wanted. When it was a Lloyds pharmacy, I routinely collected my prescriptions there. I don't do that now.
I would hardly describe this as a pharmacy as they only decide to dispense medication sometimes, they open and shut when they want, and complain about pharmacist shortages even though Rowlands, Lloyds and Boots always seem to be okay. NHS should stop using them until they meet at least some level of standard.
