Best KPortal Reviews

Collected jerk chicken, rice and peas, Jamaican patty, and plantain. All that was only £11 and it was a huge portion too! It was all really tasty. Would recommend!
I ordered ital red peas soup and came home with mannish water! So I was not happy! That went in the bin. The other order was brown stew chicken with hard food and fried plantain. Well.....the chicken was jerk chicken that had been put in the brown stew chicken gravy, and there were rice grains on the hard food. The only thing that was edible was the plantain.
It's a shame as this place has gone downhill so much since it first opened. It was so nice when it came to Nunhead years ago. The owners need to look at what the issues are and fix them. Otherwise, this place will not succeed. Which will be a shame as it has good potential.
Trying to take a bit of jerk chicken and mix in with brown stew sauce is not okay and was a silly thing to do!
Unfortunately, I will not be buying food from here again as too often things are not right. And looking at the reviews, I am not the only one who feels that way.
This place used to be good but I think the chef changed because now they're giving out cardboard textured plantain - how do you have 0 pride in your food and have the guts to give people dry and stale plantain that feels like it has been sitting outside for 5 days? The mac and cheese had barely any cheese and it had a disgusting slimy texture, literally have never experienced anything like it before. Mac and cheese is not hard to make at all and very hard to go wrong with - why would you send people slimy mac and cheese with no cheese taste? They don't even put gravy on their jerk chicken and rice anymore. They will give you rice and chicken and you would have to order the sauce separately - if you're not aware of this, good luck with the gravyless jerk chicken and rice- the food gave me hiccups because it was hard to swallow. The chicken was good but again, without gravy, you could get this anywhere. I used to buy from here all the time but never ever coming back again. Seems like these English hipster places are giving us better Jamaican food. What a shame.
Best Caribbean food in Peckham! Food taste so nice. Staff are not the friendliest lol but it's a wear Indian takeaway so it's to be expected haha. But the food and prices is deffo worth putting up with the staff! Sometimes they don't mention turn the 'open/closed' sign around so they will be trading even though they appear closed.
I've heard good things about this and decided to try it out, but unfortunately myself and two other colleagues all got food poisoning. I'm disappointed and will not be returning here
After accidently ordering through JE collection, while at work, expecting a delivery, when i found out it was a collection, tried to call Jerkiz, Lets just say they may as well not register a contact number. Couldnt reach them, 50£ of order down the drain and I lose 100% of my money. (mostly my fault) but still, you provide a service, there must be ways to help your customers. But I am no longer a customer.
This is my local.
I do enjoy the food good quality and everyone knows it.
Don't leave it to late to get food esp on a Friday! Or you will miss out.
I usually get jerk chicken or brown stew chicken...
I want to preface this by saying that I work in the service industry, so I really try to be patient when I eat out and when I do have a bad experience I almost always just say "oh well, won't be going back there any time soon," but my dinner last night from Jerkiz went out of its way to earn a bad review. We wanted a large jerk chicken with a side of rice and peas and a large callaloo with a side of hard food, and two orders of plantains, which we ordered via Just Eat. We received an automated message from Just Eat saying the order had been refused by the restaurant, so we said, no biggy, maybe the system is down and we live nearby so lets just go get it in person. At the restaurant in Nunhead I tried to order the above, but unfortunately they were out of rice and peas, callalou, hard food, and plantains. Again, I thought no big deal, its kind of late (9:15pm) and maybe they've had a busy night, so I ordered a large Jerk chicken with white rice (£8) and a large curry vegetable on it's own (£7.50) (since there were no remaining sides to pair it with besides more white rice). After a medium wait of about 20 minutes, one of the employees called me over and handed me the large jerk chicken with rice, but no curry vegetables. I asked about the vegetables but he seemed confused so I showed him my receipt, and he proceeded to fill up a small styrofoam container with chick peas for me. I asked if that was curry vegetables and he nodded and then I asked if that was in fact a large portion, to which he seemed bewildered again, and asked another employee there who ok'ed it, so I took my food and left. The large jerk chicken consisted of a large plastic box filled 85% with warm white rice and what could at best be considered a small to medium amount of cold jerk chicken. The 'large' curry vegetable consisted of maybe two or three ladles full of extremely over-salted chick peas with some curry sauce. The chick peas, when even mixed with the white rice to reduce the saltiness, were still barely palatable. The insufficient about of jerk chicken was pretty good apart from the temperature. Judging from many of the other reviews of Jerkiz, maybe last night was a fluke of some kind. I understand that unexpected problems can arise, stock can run out, and all in all its a tough business to be in, but when these things happen it's on the restaurant to be honest with it's customers, take orders only if it can deliver, and not expect the customer to pay for small portions of sub-par food.
