We use for collect takeaways hence no comment on atmosphere (well, always seems pretty cheery when I'm waiting) or delivery. Quality of the food is excellent and offers good value for money, timing has always been very good: it's ready pretty much when they say it will be. Go for the various specialities and you'll find a wide range of flavours and styles (not just "generic curry + meat + ingredient" style), well worth exploring the menu. The fish dishes are great. The takeaway lamb shank is delicious and usually provided in an empty butter tub (catering size of course, the lamb is BIG) - good recycling, keep it up!
Have been using Janna spice for as long as it has been open as it's the best Indian in York in my opinion.
Food is authentic, delicious and very well presented - i have never had a bad meal or experience here.
The staff are very friendly and attentive, the restaurant has a great atmoshphere and is always pretty busy whenever i have been.
The food is also very reasonably priced and portions are also generous.
A great little restaurant and one i would recommend if in the area!

Lamb shank for mains was the star of the show. Imagine Messi in curry form. Service top notch. Haxby faithful, here for the Janna
Great service, we walked in, there was a table available, nice atmosphere, seemed nice and busy with take away and sit in options.
To improve, the customer toilet could do with an overhaul, loose tap, grubby door, small things but important. Thank you guys. Will call again.
Just home from having a great meal at Janna. Always excellent staff friendly and efficient. The Balti curry's are fantastic, juicy chicken and delicious sauce. Always a great experience and fantastic value.
It was possibly the best curry i had in my life.
I don't always say that, but my god it was good, I've ordered a Jarpuri Lamb Shank, the meat was just falling off the bone, and the flavour was so mouth watering :)
To top it up the service was so welcoming and those guys will properly look after you.
If I didn't live so far away I'd be eating there everyday ????
Amazing service and food, best in York!!
Really nice Indian restaurant, its a very small restaurant but its got a good warm feeling to it. Food was cooked to perfection and the price was very resealable.
