Very friendly service, the food was excellent, chicken tikka masala was a little too sweet but the quality of all the dishes was delicious. On a cold evening it was lovely and warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back.
The food was flavourless. I ordered a medium heat curry which was mild. My friend ordered a vindaloo which was mild (didn't even cause a sweat)!
The chicken was that cheap square stuff you usually get in Chinese chicken balls. Two of the three of us said the curry and pilau rice was like microwave ready meals. The onion bhajis were flat and batter heavy. The poppadoms were originally served alone until the waiter came back 5 minutes later asking if we'd like pickle.
The naan was nice. But, alas, couldn't save the whole meal.
The restaurant was dead. Should have taken that red flag to go elsewhere.
I found it peculiar listening to elevator-style jazz music.
I felt sorry for the guy serving us or I would have told him it really wasn't good when he asked.
We got more than half of the food wrapped to bring home as I usually love leftover curry the day after but I have dreaded returning to it, and instead opted to give it to my cousin who will eat anything.
Sadly, not worth the money or time.
We had a fabulous meal at Jagua on Saturday evening. The food was served hot and was delicious. We were given plenty of time to decide on the menu and the food was served promptly. The only downside is that the space feels a little large with half the restaurant out of use. It could do with a curtain across but otherwise lovely. Complimentary Bailey's was a nice touch.
Had a fabulous birthday meal with our Grandson.
Our, Waiter Shaun was brilliant, very friendly.
food terrific, good portions. Restaurant is nice and warm, and clean. not rushed out either. Thank you Shaun and Team we will be back. Thanks for Baileys too ????????
We have had several take aways since Jagua opened and have been very impressed with the food. Have recently been with a large group to celebrate a birthday and everyone was very happy with their food with the group agreeing that it was some of, if not the best Indian food they'd ever had! The host was extremely kind and accommodating and went the extra mile to make the evening special for the birthday girl. Thank you
Simply the best around. Been waiting for a good curry in the area since we moved down here in 2015.
Jagua smashed it out the park. The food was fresh and portions were plentiful. The food was full of flavour too.
The customer service was also great.
I can see this place being the go to curry house in the very near future.
Easy 5* great work guys.
We have a serious lack of Indian cuisine options in Shepton Mallet and this place is a sight for sore eyes. Firstly, this is the only Indian here that does takeaway delivery which is really convenient. Secondly the food is bloody fantastic! The meat is well cooked, soft and tender, there are quite a few rice options, lots of menu options in general here which is great. The spices can be differentiated in the dishes, it's very nicely balanced and does wonders for the belly.
Completely definitely recommend this place 10/10 and will be ordering more in the future.
I recently dined at Jagua Indian Restaurant and overall, my experience was a mixed bag, meriting a 3.5-star rating out of 5. On the positive side, the service and atmosphere of the restaurant were commendable. The staff was attentive, and the ambiance of the place contributed to a pleasant dining experience.
However, the dining experience was marred by several issues related to the food and service efficiency. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. A significant letdown was the Sasik, which was overly charred, detracting from its flavor. Additionally, despite the restaurant not being overly busy, there was a mix-up with our order. Our meals were mistakenly delivered to the table next to us, which unnecessarily extended our wait time. Moreover, the overall waiting time for the dishes to arrive and even for the bill was longer than anticipated.
These areas of improvement made our dining experience less enjoyable than it could have been, overshadowing the positive aspects of service and atmosphere.
