Second time ordering chips here and the first time I just thought it was a bad batch but this is my second time and I’m quite annoyed because the majority had to be binned. The chips are so old and hard as if they’ve been cooked days before and just reheated. Really not pleased because I hardly have a takeaway due to many reasons so when I do it’s a treat. The chicken in black bean sauce was fine and fresh just the chips are horrible!
Returning after a few years, the experience was a mixed bag. The chow mein was a letdown, with an unexpected sweetness that seemed more like added sugar than natural flavours from the onions. Surprisingly, I've whipped up better at home. On the positive side, the egg-fried rice met expectations, providing a satisfactory balance. The sweet and sour chicken balls were decent, but the chicken's texture leaned towards the tough side. Overall, a somewhat underwhelming return, with room for improvement.
Poor service, called up and they say hang on put you on hold and start talking to in-store customers whilst you wait for 5 mins on the phone, no apologies then food arrived and it tasted weird ordered a chicken curry it had pork in, food went straight in the bin and won't be ordering from here again!
Not good, looks like new people have taken over ( at least temporarily ) the food was not up to the usual good standard, very bland food, that was almost cold. I don’t think I’ll be returning until things have improved.
UPDATE: FEB 2024, please if your going to have a Chinese new year break, make sure the people you leave in charge are up to the job, the Chinese I had tonight ( 12/02//2024 ) was awful, chips were only half cooked, the bbq sauce and curry was really bland, and full of lumps of cornflour in the curry sauce, terrible!!
Ordered chicken chowmin land beef chowmain from here and it was absolutely dry to the bone chips like cardboard not sure whether this is just them dishes that are like that but twice now had them and were dry meat was like rubber won't be visiting here again
I recently ordered takeout from a Chinese called "Jade House " and was pleasantly surprised with my experience. The ordering process was easy and efficient, and my food was ready for pickup within the estimated time.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and my order was packaged neatly and securely for transport. The prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food, and there were plenty of options to choose from on the menu.
Overall, I would highly recommend "Jade House" for anyone looking for a satisfying Chinese takeaway experience. The food was delicious, the service was efficient, and the prices were fair. I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future.
