Was once the Jewel of Sprotbrough! Now run by a Brewery who doesn't give a single F to it's customers or Managers!
Don't get too comfortable here, but at least the beer is cheap!
Perfect pint of Sam's and landlord and landlady very nice.
If you get the whole Sammy Smith's Co ethos - cash only, no mobiles, no swearing - making conversation rather than looking at your phone, cheap beer, cheap food but not at the expense of quality then you will love this place as much as me. Oh, as an added bonus you can sit outside and watch a game of cricket ????.
Friendly staff and decent interior and seemingly decent folk as customers.
The Thai Curry was delicious as was the stout.????
Great new landlord Ashley, lovely chap from Hongkong, his hands are tied due to the brewery rules, no music, no TV, no phones or Internet devices, but it's a great place to go for a cheap pint and chat with friends ????????
So relaxing after a two and half
Hours walking to get there well
Worth the effort.
Good pint loads of local people
Known them for many years.
Lots of natter taxi back ,
Try it the Trans Pen Way
Cons viaduct, Don Towpath,
Off after Rainbow Bridge.
So many paths you can take from this area great to explore
You won't be disappointed.
Good luck
Stay safe.

Good beer, friendly atmosphere and, unusually, a three quarter size snooker table as well as standard pool table. The most unusual thing however is a cricket ground in its own back garden. I kid you not. They also serve food, which I haven't tried yet. Excellent place.
Had a pint whilst watching cricket so location is pretty good but honestly there is no atmosphere and you feel like your intruding.
Been in a few times in the past 6 months and still a great pub. Beer is always lovely (Double Four) and they’ve done a really good job of the renovation.
Only complaint would be the current landlady (Sue?) comes across as very frosty, overheard some comments about customers that weren’t particularly nice!
Update - New landlord and landlady are great! The pub is really clean and they are a lovely young couple, great atmosphere and feels like The Ivanhoe of old
