Bit of a mixed bag review. Service is great. Staff really nice. Great TVs to watch the football. Atmosphere is decent too. There are a couple of things that let it down. Firstly my food was a little over done in the frier, almost to the point of sending it back. I shared my thoughts with the staff, no apologies, and no idea if they informed the kitchen. The last negative is on the vaping; you see the odd person catching a cheeky puff everywhere, but this is the 3rd time i have been in and people are vaping at the end of the bar next to or in full view of the staff. Not sure where this sits legally but it’s a major put off and is obviously tolerated. And do you want your kids seeing that when you’re in grabbing a bit?
Popped in for lunch and we were waiting for an hour and a half for our food. No communication from staff about what was happening. Place wasn’t busy so didn’t know what the delay was. New customers came in and we could hear them being told they might need to wait a bit. When our starter was served after about an hour the waiter rushed over and put it down and said sorry and ran off! Really need to work on customer service. Other places you’d have the staff at least checking in on you instead of leaving you sitting. Went to pay for drinks and starter and all the staff left the bar so was an even longer wait to leave! I ordered pasta so don’t know how it can take more than an hour and a half to cook that (who knows when our food would’ve come). The starter was delicious so disappointing we didn’t get to try our main but we couldn’t sit about any longer.
Came to Falkirk for a day out with my husband and thought we would pop in here. Got our drink at the bar and walked up to the back to sit down (first time here and missed the sign that it was pre booked only at the back). A female member of staff (who I can only assume is a manager as she didn’t have the uniform that other staff had on) abruptly came over to us shouting that we can’t sit there as it’s for pre booked food only. She was so rude and my husband told her that there was no need to be rude we hadn’t realised and we had no problem in moving. She walked away shouting that she was not being rude. We genuinely couldn’t believe her appalling attitude! I understand working in a bar myself that we have bad days but going from experience if I ever treated someone like that and had any remorse I would have went up and apologised to the customer for the way I spoke to them. But she didn’t come near us after that. We drank our drinks and left as we were made to feel so uncomfortable in a place where we should feel welcome. I was actually trying to find a contact email to make a formal complaint but couldn’t find one. First and last time coming here unless the lady sorts her attitude out!
Went here last Saturday, great service, friendly attentive staff. My steak was cooked exactly as I asked, not too keen on the beer battered fish. Second time here and would highly recommend
Burger good, coleslaw past its best, chips no bad. Decent portion for a hungry man, Good service. Music blasting!! Had to shout over the table
Two of us went for food last night.. Wasn't busy only 1 other table in.. Starter.. Pate.. Was OK no dressing on salad.just raw onion and pepper on top of a lettuce leaf.. We ordered beef n ale pie and gammon.. Both came with fries????egg was over cooked brown on edges.. No seasoning or any butter on veg tails were left on veg aswell.. . Just boiled and bland..frosen pie lid wasn't even brown raw all the way through.. Asked for more gravy.. Was told the only gravy they had was in the pie.. ????????When we were finished empty plates were sat by us for 15-20 mins..wont be going back
Very friendly and efficient service, the fish and chips was delicious.
Was in on Saturday night for Food outstanding is an understatement & the chefs are very highly skilled I asked our server who the chef was & he said that the head chef was in today with his team food is so fresh & colourful! Definitely doing something right with the food here the best in falkirk!
The service was okay the only thing is we felt sorry for the very friendly man Ryan I’m sure his name is
felt like he got left with doing the restaurant himself while his team of 3 plus the bar manger standing behind the bar drinking coffees while the restaurant was extremely busy that was the only down side to my experience at icons bar & grill
