Honestly, this place is wonderful! Quiet, peaceful, tidy and SO dog friendly!|I loved the quaintness and quirkiness of it, reminded me a bit of my grannys house (in a good way). The bed was the movst comfortable I have ever slept in. Orange juice and milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. Internet was a bit patchy but we didn't come here to work!|Will 100% be back!
We booked this place for four nights as it wasn’t too far from Goodwood where we were visiting the Festival of Speed. It was brilliant for what we wanted, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. It’s kind of old fashioned and quirky but we loved it. Plus it comes with an entire garden for each cottage and if you have kids there’s a safe play area. And not only that it’s dog friendly so you can bring your furry friends along too. The bathroom probably needs a bit of attention and perhaps remodelling as it’s a bit snug the way it is. But honestly we really loved it.
My wife and I only stayed here for one night, but it was a delightful evening in an unusual abode. We stayed on the top floor of the mill and were both very surprised at how spacious it is, given the original design of the building. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are superb, and the bed is very comfortable.
We had our two small dogs with us, too; and with the little doggy area on site, we were able to keep them occupied and take them to "do their business" regularly, as and when.
We would certainly stay here again, hopefully for longer next time.
Thank you to all at Hunston Mill! ????
Stayed in the bottom half of the old windmill which contains a kitchen/living room/ dining area, a bedroom and a bathroom which were all more spacious than I was expecting. It was in fact, just the right size for a couple. The owners had provided tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and there was also milk, water and orange juice in the fridge. The mill is quirky, picturesque and rustic, with a bit of local history and we loved it. It was well equipped and spotlessly clean and the whole site is very well kept. Every accommodation is different in size and character, with their own garden and barbecue area. Our garden was not enclosed but we actually had two areas, a table and bench in a shaded area and a bench round the side of the mill which was a lovely suntrap. We also had the porch which I enjoyed sitting out on for breakfast and to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. The whole site is wonderfully tranquil. Some information that might be useful, if like us you don't drive, there is a bus service that passes right by the site but unfortunately it does not stop outside and there are no roadside pavements/paths so we used taxis which cost between £10 and £12 to/from Chichester. However transport links in Chichester are really good so you can get around easily from there. While staying we arranged a small Tesco delivery and had a take away meal delivered without any problem. Excellent communication with the owners prior to our stay and friendly interactions during. We would certainly stay again.
Lovely accommodation in a picturesque location. Me and two friends stayed for three days. The managers Thelma and Jackie were lovely they were very kind and allowed us to leave our luggage there as we arrived early and didn’t want to walk around with luggage. The cottage is clean with great facilities and had its own garden. The beds were very comfy. The site is very well maintained with character . We didn’t drive so coming in and out of the location was an issue for us as the buses don’t stop outside and there is no pavement /paths . We used taxis to visit places. Thelma and Jackie were available for any issues. We had a lovely break.
Stayed in the bottom half of the windmill for two nights. Free parking for several cars. Quaint cottage in beautiful surroundings. Lovely little garden and an ice machine for all to use in the main garden area. The accommodation was cosy, well equipped kitchen area, complete with dishwasher, complimentary tea, coffee, juice, milk etc. Comfortable seating for two. Nice full pillows and a comfortable, if small, double bed. Large bathroom that could do with being updated. The shower drips and the cubicle looks tired, none of this affects the usage though! The cottage was spotlessly clean but it did smell musty and a bit 'doggy' on arrival, this was swiftly rectified by opening the door and windows. You need a car here ideally, there are lots of pubs and restaurants worth visiting. We had breakfast at the marina. £36.00 for two. A good sized breakfast but it could have been warmer. The Crown and Anchor at Dell Quay is a must. Chichester is beautiful, I recommend a walk around the walls. All in all, a lovely short trip.
We stayed in Hunston Mill (the windmill building) in the single bedroom downstairs. It’s very quirky and in a great location to explore everywhere from a great local canal walk, down to West Wittering or Selsey beaches, the marina or even Bognor Regis across to Brighton.|Parking can be a bit of a tight fit when all accommodation is full but we always managed. We had a great warm welcome and the mill has everything you need. Decent, if small (but that’s all you need) kitchen, comfortable reclining chairs in the lounge dining area, roomy bedroom with lush bed for a great sleep, and a decent sized bathroom. |I do have to mention some slight niggles; The bathroom fittings are a bit tired - would be fantastic with a simple update we felt - but no doubting the impressive, if old, shower. Yes the water does not go down the plug fast enough so you are standing in water and the boiler makes a noise like a whale with ibs, but what a shower you get! Wow!|There is a strange smell in the bedroom. It’s not overpowering, but after a day out you notice it more wehn returning. Couldn’t put my finger on what it was. Don’t notice it after a while but worth mentioning.|Despite those small niggles (which stopped me giving five stars) what you get for your money is a very clean (everywhere was spotless), well equipped accommodation in a great location that puts a smile on your face. We would definitely book again if in the area. Don’t let the niggles put you off!!
We arrived at this quint quirky place, it is off a main road but when you there, you seem to forget about the road, we stayed in the cottage attached to the main house, it has so much character, and my mind went back to the times long ago when the cottage was first built, and who lived in it. We took our Yorkie dog with us and she loved having her garden to sniff around in The whole place has character, and everyone very helpful,The cottage has everything you need if you want to cook, we ate out as lots of pubs in the area, you would need a car to visit these. Also there was tea coffee sugar orange juice milk, and nice pack of biscuits, yummy, also bathroom was beautiful, and essential items supplied, there is also a garden with a few swings a football goal, and some games, which children can have some fun with, and in the main garden there is an ice machine which was perfect as we had a hot weekend.Lots to see and do if you want to go out and about, if not just sit and enjoy your cottage, |Thankyou very much to Jackie and all the team who make this a little Gem,
