Excellent service at Home Hill, as always. They never fail to meet and exceed expectations for local advice, servicing, MOTs and even quickly fitted my wing mirror glass when I popped in on the off-chance. Outstanding value for money and a real asset to Hextable!
Had my car MoT'ed with them; they have plenty of parking and the woman in reception seemed nice and friendly. Cost also wasn't too bad, about middle of what I'd expect.
The mechanic / NT who did my car seemed a little grumpy but gave it a pass with only an advisory on one of the repeater / satellite indicators, who's bulb coating had started to deteriorate (a fairly common issue on this model).
I would have given them 5 stars except some months later my aunt visited from Wales and noticed liquid pooling under her car. A quick check and it was discovered that the radiator had developed a pinhole leak. Although I could do the job I'd rather not do it outside on a wet, rainy & very blowy late autumn day unless I really had to, so she called and asked if they could do it.
The answer was 'no' because the car (04 Honda Jazz) was 'too old' and they couldn't get the part. The thing is, the radiator is also used on the subsequent model and can be sourced from motor factors, so I don't understand. Presumably they just don't want the work if it's likely to be a bit of trouble due to it's age?
On the plus side they didn't try to rip her off but it was nonetheless a bit concerning.

Used home hill garage twice recently, I was passing when I heard a nasty rattle in my wife's car so I chanced asking there and then. The mechanic looked and diagnosed the brake pads loose in the caliper and even did a quick road test to confirm. A simple job I did the next day and his diagnosis was spot on.
Based on that positive experience I got my MOT done there last week on my Chrysler which as I knew needed work doing to pass. They quoted a fair price and booked it in the following week, all the work and retest was done by that afternoon. Very happy with the service and work done, great clear communication and we will be using them again. Garages can be a minefield so I am relieved to find home hill garage.
Update September 2019, still using home hill for Mot's and repairs. They continue to provide exceptional service. I recently changed car and they again have been absolutely brilliant. Chris is always helpful and deserves the brilliant reputation they have.
