pleasant but treacherous walk there from penzance. it's about an hour round trip from madron. the well itself wasn't particularly insane but it was a very pretty place.
Was more than I expected the trees are absolutely covered in offerings and ribbons, amazing to see but definitely advise to wear wellies you'll be able to go alot further than I could with them on
Park in the tiny car park on the right and follow the footpath into the woods. It will be wet in winter. Keep an eye out for the ribbons tied to the trees and bring something with you if you want to make a wish.
Hidden gem! Take a ribbon with you to make a wish, and prepare little flower bouquet while enjoying walk down the path to put on altar of old Chapel on end of the path. Lovely walk, very relaxing. Look for ribbons on trees to lokate. Check out the streem, nice things to find, but do not take them away, these are someone's wishes ????
Interesting little walk down the leafy footpath to the well. Make sure to bring your best walking boots if you want to explore the surroundings - mud alert! ???? Pro challenge - try finding the calla lilly pond ⚜️
A lovely peaceful place, with the famous cloutie tree bearing many weird and wonderful items left by visitors. There is now access to the original well and is the walk through some rather wet paths
Lovely area and a lovely walk past the trees to the well.
A must visit if you are interested in history & mystery. I have to say this place has a 'feeling' about it while you are there its dark & secluded even on a scorching day. If you want to visit both wells you will need boots for the one path that is very boggy. However there is still plenty to explore if you don't follow that path. There is a clootie tree very well visited by the looks of its well decorated branches. Keep going past that to find the remains of a Church which must still be visited often as there are fresh offerings on its alter. There is a small area for free parking and the road can be easy to miss so look for signs saying.. Boswarthen celtic chapel.
