While the dishes at Holman Clavel Inn, such as the delightful Whitebait, Pork Belly main course, and Chocolate Cheesecake, were delicious, I must note that the service was incredibly slow. ???? This aspect detracted from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.
The Whitebait dish ????️???? offered a taste of the sea, crispy and bursting with flavour. The Pork Belly main course ????️???? was a culinary masterpiece, featuring tender pork and exquisite seasoning. The luscious Chocolate Cheesecake ???????? was a delightful finish.
Though the slow service was a downside, the flavours and quality of the dishes were commendable.
Had Sunday lunch at Holman Clavel Inn today and what a gorgeous lunch it was too???? From the moment we arrived, we had a friendly welcome, the pub was packed but they couldn't do enough for us. Our order was taken promptly and the meal was served within a short time. The meat was succulent and plenty, great roast potatoes, vegetables and Yorkshire puds! The desserts were great too. A bustling atmosphere! Excellent value for money. Thank you to all the staff there - you're doing a great job. We hope to be back.
Were going somewhere else but it was shut a local mentioned it The Bristol Red a nice sweet cider we had a camenbert share great starter onion rings crispy and soft vegan burger thick, tasty with tomato relish chips crispy and soft good atmosphere the staff attentative said sorry for the delay but the price of fresh food a tasty surprise thank you for the experience
Really lovely pub, very friendly, great selection of beers and excellent food. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful meal here. A little disappointed at the quantity of the starter for 2 people with only 6 small bites of squid, and small portion of potato. Besides that it was delicious ????
Lovely food. Great location. Small animals out back. Garden seating. You need to book a table to eat though!
Entering this place was like stepping back in time, because it's a genuine old, rustic country pub with a log burner and the kind of atmosphere that is rare in today's world dominated by gastropubs and sports bars. Friendly landlady, good choice of ales and ciders, interesting menu. The roast dinner was highly recommended by a regular. Certainly worth a visit. I only stopped for a drink, but will return for a meal.
Lovely country pub with a nice cozy atmosphere. We had a great welcome when we walked in the door and the Sunday roast was amazing. We will definitely be back!
