Attended the menopause clinic last Saturday which was very informative & an excellent support to woman’s health. Had the opportunity to Spk with Dr. Hoyle after the session which was of huge benefit to me & assess my HRT treatment. So lucky to have this service available to us. Highly recommend attending.
Its a lottery to even join the call que to speak to a receptionist. You have to start ringing at 07.59 then its all down to luck. I rang 204 times this morning and i am still trying now
Very strange , I have tried to call the GP at 15:45 and the landline says the GP is now closed , on website says 18:30 closing time .
What’s happening , Hollies medical centre ?!
Excellent Medical Centre, special mention to the Receptionists, they do a great job, very helpful, ????
The surgery is poorly ran, never an appointment available, you may as well go to A&E or a walk in centre.
On two occasions l have been given medication that l didn't request. And each time the pharmacy has insisted that they only dispense what the Doctor has sent to them. This is quite worrying.
My very elderly Father phoned up as he has a what appears to be a chest infection, and asked if he could have a home visit as he can barely walk.
Told "we don't do home visits" ring back tomorrow at 8.00.
Doctors who don't do home visits? Absolute joke.
I work with a fella whose wife is a GP and his wife worked all through lockdown seeing patients AND doing home visits.
Seems like Hollies Road want to get as many patients on their books as possible. They receive money from the Government for each patient on their books.
Gone are the days when GPs actually care about their patients more than how much they earn.
Just had a message saying they will no longer accept requests for prescriptions over the phone. They have to be done online or on a smart phone.
As most of the people requiring repeat prescriptions are elderly I should imagine this will cause them lots of problems.
It seems to me they want the least contact wirh actual people as possible. They continued with telephone consultations long after lockdown ended and seem to continuing in the same vein.
It’ll be even harder getting appointments or even getting through on the phone once all of the new houses are built around Lower Lane.
I’m sure they’ll be taking on lots of new patients
When they can’t even provide a decent service to their existing patients - but hey it’s all about making as much money as possible for doctors these days.
p.s. some of the positive reviews appear to have been written by acquaintances or possibly people in the medical centre themselves.
I have been with this practice for just over 2 years now. I would just like to say that the Receptionist Lauren is a breath of fresh air. She is so upbeat from the minute she answers your call. Really helps when you are sick and feel miserable. I can say that I have never experienced this from any other GP practice. GP's have always been very helpful too. Thank you.
