Very nice playground with extraordinarily big and complex climbing frames, swings, a zip line… the area is nice and green away from London‘s hustle and bustle. Lots of benches for parent’s to relax. We were here on a weekday during the summer holidays and it wasn’t crowded at all.
Definitely one of the best playground I've ever been to. So much to do, entertained older kids as well as a 2 year old for an entire afternoon.
Brilliant, fun, adventurous and unique. My three (4, 9 and 11) all found something for them and were having non-stop fun.
You can tell how much thought has gone into it, from the little (arguably pointless) buggy/scooter bridge over the drain channel to the rotating thing on the downspout which would only work in the rain.
The wooden structures were made by someone who clearly listened to kids and thought ‘no, a bridge between a slide and a climbing thing isn’t good enough’. Cue holes, interesting ways to ascend, platforms on angles, holes to climb in, challenging slides, and more.
The zip line is beautiful between two redwood trees, but with ample space. The two swinging ropes over a dip are a fun addition - though smaller kids might struggle to get down to them from the entrance. And the long hanging swinging rope is surprisingly stable.
Despite being a playground with safe/squishy landing areas, it feels like it’s in the middle of a wildlife meadow. In many cases this is beautiful, taking a leaf from Greenwich park’s playground, but it also has the same pitfall that it’s easy to lose shorter kids. Maybe time for a sensitive trim?
Speaking of which, due to excitement, you’ll likely miss the eco space on the right as you come in, give it a moment to pause to see big hotels, a wildlife space and more.
Unsurprisingly to any parent who has been to a park with a ‘water feature’, they don’t work / have been turned off for winter / etc. Expect the usual disappointment but this isn’t a big deal as the rest of the park is so much more interesting!
There are toilets, one accessible and one regular (someone seems to have scratched off the ‘women’ symbol), though neither of them had any soap. The rest of park is also accessible through ramps.
Amazingly build. Hours of activities for kids and you will find it very difficult to get them out of there. Great for ages 3 to 12 or even more. Spacious so doesn’t seem crowded. Toilets are a bit far but within reach. My kids loved it here!!!
Outstanding adventure playground. The Holland Park is an excellent day out! Much enjoyed family day out. Surrounding gardens and woodland well managed in central London. Bucket swings, massive slide, climbing frames, fireman poles, rope ladders and a zip line!!! - all ages of children catered for.
A Japanese garden a stones throw away is tranquil after slide swing action and walled garden is stunning in April/May. Peacocks roam and well feed squirrels are pretty daring! Lots of nature initiatives and ecological works and a large football pitch tennis courts and cricket nets near by for older children.
Great newly built playground. Fun features for the kids and a lovely place to spend an hour or so.
Only critique being it's missing some swing features for the younger toddlers but all in all a fun lively place.
Highly recommended if in the area
So much fun for my 5 year old… great play park… decent size and quite a lot to play on~ more suitable for 5+
There is small water tap thing for the kids to play and they can get a little wet…
It was raining when we went but my 5yo still had so much fun…
He cried a little coz some kid pushed him down the slide ???? that’s life kid!!! lol
The playground is still open although we are in lockdown. I was surprised to see how busy it is considering the situation but then I suppose that there are not many places for bored kids to go! The playground itself is great - aimed more for the older kids 5+ (there is another playground in the park for the young ones). Situated nextdoor to the Holland park ecology centre (restricted opening times) it was recently revamped and landscaped last year and is weathering well. The new design is great - lots of wood and natural backdrops - fantastic equipment like climbing frames, a zip wire, snake swing, basket swings, sea-saw, sand play area and water/ wet play in the summer. Tunnels and slides - what more could a kid ask for?!? Oh there's also handy toilets on site with baby changing facilities and seating for adults (some picnic tables)... I love this playground ????
