I like this place, got a nice fresh sandwich and wanted to get a cake too but there was no prices on anything ! Which is really annoying!
I went here the day after and bought 2 vanilla slice (2 for £2) they looked amazing but they were HORRIBLE! I got my partner a flap jack and he enjoyed that, do not get the vanilla slices!
I used to pop in here most days to buy my lunch , on my way to my own shop for a few years..
I always had the same thing, onions and beef on a large brown barmcake and prawn cocktail also on a large barmcake, one for lunch one for tea as I worked till 10.00 pm most days. The people serving were friendly, helpful and professional always..
Their sandwiches, made fresh for you, were the best in Stockport and their cakes mouthwatering.
They got used to me wanting lots of fresh sliced onions on my beef barm. ☺
I got off my bus 2 stops before my own stop to buy their goodies and then walk the rest of the way.
Did this until I retired. Very sad to hear they will be closing down soon ???? it will be a great loss to Reddish and Stockport , a very great loss.
I wish them well for the future, and intend to call in one day and purchase my usual, and a couple of elephant feet and lemon buns , before they close.
So sad after all their hard work and all these years they have been there for it to end this way.

Staff are lovely, great sandwiches made with fresh ingredients to order, cakes are delicious (recommend the fondant slices, vanilla slices and lemon buns!) - been a customer since I was a child in the 80’s, Reddish wouldn’t be the same without Hobsons!
Thirty years ago Hobsons bakery made my wedding cake . Which was a three tier sponge cake, it was very tasty and a lot of hard work went into making the cakes

Very clean and tidy and friendly service.
Lovely sandwiches, but service is so slow. I only go in if 1 or 2 are waiting. If you phone they will always stop serving you to answer the phone no matter how many customers are in the shop. Personally I think that's wrong if you have a shop full of customers.
Fantastic choice. The pies are made fresh all day. Sandwiches are packed with filling on a choice of breads. Huge selection of cakes and I can highly recommend the flapjacks. All served quickly by the friendly staff. My new go to for lunch.
A stunning old fashioned bakery the likes of which I thought had gone. Even the smell from outside gave me a feeling of nostalgia and on entering was delighted with selection of hand made cakes and sausage rolls. The choices are varied and quality was superb. This is going to be my goto lunch treat when in the area. Very good prices and friendly staff. Ah just like the good old days.
