The staff explain all work needed simply. Called me before replacement of my brakes, and cleaned up the rear ones to save me money. Good locator with wide road parking. They've been in business for many years so are trustworthy. For me, they're a distance from my home, and so getting 2 buses to Hillcrest to collect car was challenging, and my daily steps count shot up as I had to walk into town after dropping my car off. That's not a criticism of them, more around Hastings transport. Not sure if they are the cheapest, but they do talk my lady engine language, and are a friendly bunch. Next time I'll splash out on taxis methinks cos I'm averse to walking, uneven paths and cold weather ????
Called last minute , fitted me in the next day . Could have easily charged me for new brake pads as that’s what I was expecting from mot advisories but said they could be cleaned up so cost me much less .
I do not like giving poor reviews. However in this case I’m left with no other choice. My car is due for its MOT and I just noticed that these Herbert’s on the previous MOT. put the wrong mileage on the system. Over 10.000 miles. They’ve been asked to send me an email confirming their error. Which they have not done. Now reading these poor reviews did they actually do the MOT. Previous advisory’s not shown. If issues arise on this next independent MOT. I shall be reporting them. I gave them the chance to make this error right. And they couldn’t even do that for me.
Unorganised, can not understand a word they say as they all mumble. Booked in advance and when I turn up somehow they're fully booked and can't fit me in... very very unprofessional. Avoid if possible
We went the a couple of days ago to get my car check due to leaking liquid said there check on day in morning said I need it checked to need car back for school run waited all day for them to say couldn't check it till next day waited again next day no call so walked there to be told they looked at it and said I needed a new fuel cooler rad part which they said will cost 500+ not include the work hour for the guys then charge be 45 pound for them to look at it when it was a 5min job too look . so took it to a different garage and they told me it's not what it needs it's a fuel cooler pipe I need.. I wouldn't recommend this garage as they try to rip u off also there was car keys left on side in the office with no CCTV or no one at desk so anyone could pinch this keys what they had on desk
Came in for MOT which was booked in advance and we turned up just to be told that they are fully booked. Rude staff , unorganised, car keys laying around in office with no staff around no cameras. Pretty sure they don’t even do the MOT properly , and I brought my car in at 10am but on the MOT certificate, it said 8:29, suspicious behaviour, avoid
The place to go for an mot as they are very good and professional at keeping you, your car and others safe. Cannot fault this garage as they were very honest with me about why my car failed and I got fails rectified and put through a retest which was a pass with thanks to this garage and the owners brother who does mot repairs etc just across the road, and is very reasonably priced and does an amazing job
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The whole experience was horrendous. There is no communication between anyone that works there, every time I called for information it was always “can you call back tomorrow” or “someone will call you later” even for the simplest information they should have known. They carried out work WITHOUT consent and added the price onto the original quote. They also carried out the service and added the cost on after I asked them not to do the service. They had my car for almost 2 weeks and every time I called for an update they had “run into another problem”. I called for an update and a breakdown of all the work that had been done and again was told “can you just call back tomorrow”. Trevor who I spoke to was extremely rude, unprofessional and sarcastic. I then decided to go there to ask for a copy of what was being done and whilst waiting outside I could hear them talking about my situation with other customers and colleagues saying “if they turn up and start I’ll have them”. When someone came to the reception again I was asked to just come back tomorrow. I said I had just heard everything he said about it and he said he was sorry and holds his hands up but he is just very frustrated. Never again will I use this garage or recommend it to anyone I know. The attitude of all the men working there is appalling and trading standards are now involved and looking into it further. My car has a black box for my insurance and since my car has been in the garage my driving score has decreased dramatically, causing the cost of my insurance to increase. I mentioned this when I collected the car and all he said was “oh I didn’t really think about that”. Disgusting service all round.
