What a lovely little place. We dropped in during the Christmas period for a bite to eat. The staff were lovely and the food was too.
You Made My Day
Arrived late to the district and found that most of the restaurants were closed at 3pm, which was crazily early.
Had no other choice but get seated in this cafe. The only restaurant that close later than the rest. The food was surprisingly tasty. So hot and so fresh. Different style with reasonable price.
Would try other things in the menu next time. It's a place that shouldn't be underestimated.
What a shame. Such a stunning tourist district but most of the restaurants and shops close so early.

Had a lovely breakfast here, very pleased they serve different teas as i drink Red Bush. Really friendly guy served us. Lunch menu looks amazing and lots of lunchtime offers on, may have to call in again ???? ????
Went on a Sunday and they managed to fit us in within 10 minutes of us arriving. Excellent service and great choices. Was surprised that it offered Sunday Dinners, my son ordered the large Sunday dinner and it looked amazing. As I was Gluten Free I was a bit sceptical but I was amazed at the choices offered to me. In the end I only wanted something light so I ordered the toastie and it came with a salad and I have to say it was the best toastie I have ever tasted! I would definitely recommend and I will definitely be returning in the future. Fantastic Staff and very helpful, and the choices of food was impeccable.
Having had a frustrating trip to Marazion on a grey Easter Sunday, where the cafes were full-to-bursting, we popped down the coast to Penzance in search of caffeine and a loo.
Across the road from the harbour long stay car park is Helly's, so we took a punt. They were busy when we popped in (12.45ish) but could seat us for a short while (table was booked by someone else for 1.30pm) We ordered a tea and a flat white coffee, which was brought out to us pretty quickly. The pot of tea did 3 cups (and didn't dribble!) and the coffee was strong and at a good temperature for drinking. £5.50 for the two drinks - the cheaper end of average in our experience.
Nipped in to the loo. Whilst there is only one customer loo, it was spacious and clean.
We are planning a trip to Penzance later in the week, and will be popping in to Helly's again.
Been in a few times now and the service has always been fantastic. The staff are lovely and helpful, the food is incredible and the prices are very good. I especially like the half price coffee deal in the morning. Highly reccomend.
A wonderful eatery providing delicious home cooked food and drinks. We have holidays at Penzance the last three years and do not eat anywhere else. Service is friendly and professional and Hellys represents excellent value for money. Pet friendly also, Coco thoroughly enjoyed her visits as well! 5 stars, very well done!
We've been here a few times and it's always been a pleasant experience. You have to wait outside to be seated but they always attend to you very quickly. The times we've been it's always been busy and we've had to sit outside, which has been fine as the weather wasn't too bad and they have outside heaters. Usually we just have coffee, but we have breakfast on one visit, a Halloumi panini and eggs benedict, both were absolutely delicious and presented really nice. Staff were nice & friendly and from seeing them interact with other customers, very accommodating and will bend over backwards to meet requests. Hopefully if we return to the area we can come back.
