Rude and Shocking Service from a liar!
My wife went in with our car saying it didn't feel right. She has to take our son to and from School and also travel to her place of work serving dinners to School children in this car. She asked them if it was safe. The mechanic said it just needed a service. He serviced the car at approx £250 and told my wife it was ok. The car then felt fine for a day, but my wife then started experiencing the same problems as before.
After a couple of more days, she took it back and there was a different man she spoke to. This second mechanic said to the first mechanic 'I told you the clutch pedal was too high, the clutch is going'. He then took the car for a drive and confirmed the clutch plate was far too high. My wife then asked if it was unsafe to drive. He questioned how many miles was I driving and then said that she shouldn't drive it too much as the clutch could just go, meaning the car was completely unsafe to drive. She told him that she had brought it in recently and had spent some money already in the hope they would have fixed this the first time. The original mechanic admitted that he should have driven it for the service and that because my wife works for the School, he said it would take a day's work, but he could work out a discount.
A day later we received the quote for £650 including £320 day labour. We were shocked at this and I phoned the garage the next day. I had the original mechanic, Simon, answer the phone. I told him that my wife brought it in the first time to solve the issue and they'd given her back an unsafe car. He was then really rude and completely lied to me, saying that he'd told her the clutch plate was too high. Liar! Shocking incompetent service. Put my wife and son at risk, endangering their lives.
Avoid using this garage at all costs!!!
I'm not stopping here, I am looking at taking this complaint much further, as this garage has shown complete negligence of their duty as mechanics.
Cant fault the team at Haynings Service station! They cannot do enough to help you. All the staff are friendly and go above and beyond. Reasonably priced and local. Highly recommend!
