After picking up a.prescription for my elderly Mum today from Hayden High Street Pharmacy in Lowestoft, I have been compelled to leave a review as the past 2 visits have been concerning. On the last visit 2 weeks ago I went to the pharmacy and it was busy - queue out the door. I've never seen it so busy. I queued patiently and the queue was growing. There clearly was something going on behind the counter. No organisation. No happy faces. 2 girls standing at the back not attempting to help. There was one lady who was clearly not happy and in a right fluster. It was so bad she was talking to herself, complaining about things not being right and no help. On one occasion i did.hear her swear and kept looking at the queue and walking about aimlessly.
Today I went in again and again another queue. I patiently waited and on my turn one of the assistants - a younger girl wearing a not to appropriate long cardigan amd crocs served me. To say she was miserable and rude was an understatement. The whole shop seemed a shame and no organisation. There was clearly nobody in charge and everyone walking around like headless chickens. As an HR professional, I can only deduct not enough trained staff weren't scheduled as well as a lack of customer service skills. There was no thanks. No interaction. It looked like she'd rather be elsewhere. That's 2 occasions I've had a poor experience. Pharmacies get busy but they are places where, usually, sick or vulnerable people go - so I hope maybe a better, more organised and happier workforce will be seen if I venture there again.
An awfull service. Do not keep promisses. Repeat prescription order delivery to home address actually is holding you as a hostage for several days. Particular case: oder to be ready on Friday. Instead they attempt to deliver on Wednesday. Luckily was at home because if you are not, in that case no repeat delivery. Even worse - part of order medication was missing. Turned out they forgot one in the fridge, another one was not issued at all!. Promissed to deliver next day. No way, no delivery on Thursday. Friday and not possible to contact a pharmacy - automated answer "can't take a call" most of the time or line is busy all the time. Cancell that service if a pharmacy can't manage what they are supposed to do.
EDIT (update half an hour later): managed to contact by phone. Yesterday was told the medcine was forgotten in the fridge. Today turned out that it was not issued. The other missing medcine was issued only on Thursday after reporting it is missing. And that is despite all medcines were in the list in the initial order a week ago! Still the phamacy told they can not make sure that both missing medcines are out for delivery today. Worst pharmacy and surgery for customer service.
If you go into the shop then you may have to wait if it is busy but then that is true about anywhere.
My reason for only giving 2 stars is simple, they have a tendency to ignore the phone, I have witnessed this first hand, watching staff standing around chatting whist the phone is ringing and ringing, I have also spent DAYS trying to get through to them on the phone.
It never used to be this bad, I have been getting my medicines from here for 20 years but now I am seriously considering going elsewhere.
Many thanks Haydens High Street Lowestoft. Yesterday early evening they were especially helpful to me by delivering a prescription to me within minutes of contacting them. A member of staff called on me on his way home from work instead of me having to wait until Monday. His kind action helped me to reduce the very painful situation I was experiencing. I am extremely grateful.
Service has gone downhill rapidly. Says not received prescription yet when it's delivered the date stamp is always earlier than the day the phone call is made chasing it up. Some staff bend the truth and always blame the doctors
Always has lots of staff so while there’s the inevitable wait for a prescription to be sorted, it’s rarely taken more than a few minutes. Staff are helpful, obviously knowledgable and experienced. They’re willing to give advice for those little niggles and really helped me on one occasion, saving me wasting my doctors time.
Would be 0 if possible only 5 people ment to be in the pharmacy at any one time it says on the door. There was 9 people in at one point at least 8 members of staff at not one of them said a word to anyone just kept serving. Outdoor hatch was shut with makes no sense at all. Felt extremely unsafe in there had to walk out a
Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff, the one of the new Pharmacists not so, also until recently very convenient opening times posted as till 21:00 week days and 18:00 on Saturday although not so sure when they're supposed to close now.. There is also a reasonable sized parking area just outside (as the site is shared with a Doctor's Surgery in the same building) where Pokémon doggers often congregate in the evening.
