A perfect outdoor spot for tea or coffee. A pond where you can take your chair and tea thermos and leave yourself alone with nature.
We visited this place late on a Sunday afternoon and found it to be quite a quiet and calming place to be.
The view of the reservoir is absolutely stunning from the viewpoint and in spite the sign saying no swimming you can't help but think you're just wanna.
Fishing is actually allowed on this Reservoir by way of permit and we were actually giggling at one fisherman who was being taunted by fish on the lake as we watched.
Just outside the area of the Quantock Hills, this place still gives you the feeling that you are deep within those Hills with its sweeping sides down to the valley in which the reservoir sits.
There is enough parking here for about 20 vehicles. I would imagine the overnight camping or stays are not allowed or tolerated but I did not see a sign saying that you can't
There are plenty of bin provided at this viewpoint so use them and or take your rubbish home
A lot of the parking spaces where covered in mud, looked as though a lorry had drove onto the grass verge. Was quite which was lovely, will visit again
Great view from the top. Muddy car park. Free of cost though.
Great lay-by with plenty of spots to set up camp in the van for the night! Phone signal is non existent tho. Cracking view of the weather is good
Hawkridge Reservoir, lovely quiet park up, nice walk around Reservoir, visit the Lime kiln up the hill. Peaceful & good for bird spotting.
Beautiful views but no public access to the fenced off waterside is permitted.
Lovely location shame you can no longer sit down by it
