Harbour View Cafe serves the Fairbourne Railway and, sitting at one end of the railway, a connection for the Barmouth Harbour Ferry that crosses the River Mawddach and the harbour at Barmouth. A Michelin restaurant this is not, however it is a terrific beachside cafe offering refreshments, snacks, and potential respite from robust weather.
Went to that location, the shop was close. Nice views 4 chair there family can sit and see harbour view.
Nice place to visit when travelling on the Fairbourne steam railway. They sell a selection of hot and cold drinks as well as snacks, public toilets available too, and a place to shelter from the weather while waiting for the return train or ferry back to Barmouth.
Situated at the end of the line, it is open when the train runs and some what seasonal however, it is a good cheap and cheerful place
Nice and chilled. An alternative way to approach Barmouth via the ferry at £2.00 for a single ticket. If you want to use the cafe be sure to bring cash as they don't take card.
Absolutely brilliant! Friendly service with a smile. Great fish & chips, nicely presented. A credit to them and a bonus to the customer. Will call in again when next in the vicinity.
On a beautiful sunny day in the middle of July it was closed. After walking 90 minutes to get there it was disappointing. Fortunately the ferry was ready nearby to take us over to Barmouth.
Visited in September 2018. The railway was great, but the cafe has now closed permanently. A great shame; hope someone revives it in the not too distant future.
