Lovely little village. Good pub for food and a canny little walk up ro the castle.
Lovely place.. and went for a walk through the woods and up to drakestone and along to the lake. Fantastic views and walk was great..
Rather windy but that didn't spoil the day..
Not alot to see sadly. 5 minutes should complete the tour. Some nice views.
Peaceful area, ruins only but the view is lovely. Great spot for a picnic under a tree. The road it sits in is worth driving too, very pretty alongside the river.
Not much actual castle left but an interesting site with beautiful views of the peaceful valley. Free carpark. No toilets. Star Inn pub in village.
It's a nice place to walk around the remains of an old castle, imagining what it was like in its heyday. Not a lot to look at in reality, but still interesting to imagine just how these places were built all those years ago with no machines to cut, transport, carve and move the large stones around.
It's a lovely ruine, but unfortunatly there is not a lot left of the castle. On the other hand, not very far, there's a great walk with lovely views, called "Drakestone" well worth doing.
