I used to live locally approx. 10 years ago and enjoyed having crispy and freshly cooked golden chips, every time. When I visit my parents, we normally get fish and chips from here and the standard stayed the same.

However hands have changed recently. We got fish and chips last weekend and were disappointed with chips. They were greasy, brown and mushy. But the fish was OK. So gave it a pass.

But we have tried it again this weekend and it’s even worse. The chips were equally as bad as last week and the fish undercooked. No crispy batter, with sloppy paste underneath the surface.

My wife (from North MCR) always used to say the hut near your parents is the best chippy in Manchester. I would normally agree but it’s sadly not anymore.

Theo’s will be getting an order next time.

Best chippy in the area in my opinion. Good quality food and generous portions. Staff are friendly and service is efficient even at really busy times.

Been going to the hut chippy for years. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but was surprised to see it getting a negative review. I’ve gone in a number of times since Chris retired and his daughter and her husband took over. The fish and chips have been just as good as always. Still my number one for fish and chips in Timperley!

*This* is the best chippy in Manchester if not further afield. Nowhere else cooks their fish as well as this place.

Had some great fish and chips from here, both were made fresh. The fish was large flaky with crispy batter and chips were lovely golden and dry and crispy, peas nice also. Very sensible prices too and it was very clean and tidy. I will definitely return.
