I've been using this place since the 90"s. Same owner, (and it should be called Grandads as I only ever see him cooking n serving). Traditional Carribean fare. There always some sort of soup, absolutely love his curry mutton and oxtail dinners too! If I'm there on a Friday I'll check what fish he's prepared and always has atleast 3 fish options. He's prices are great value, excellent portion sizes, and cooked with care. If you're ever in the area pass through for lunchbor dinner, you'll be impressed.
Niah, bless up!! ????
I've had takeaways.
When you can get it, the food seems good. Family liked it. But I think my timing must be off, unfortunately, as I usually have to wait or it's not a cooking day. Shame.
Maybe I need to get the correct service days and times.
Vegetarian options are available, fish too. There are a few parking bays right in front of the shop. I think it is wheelchair accessible. Other shops and traditional chip-shop, down the end of the parade. I'll go again, as I'd like to try other items on the menu.
A friend took me here for food the last time I was working in Birmingham (10 years ago). I've been sent back again and found the place by accident as it's round the corner from where I'm staying, what a great coincidence. The foods excellent, the service is super friendly. Every street corner should have a Granny's takeaway to feed the hungry souls.
Nice little spot. Wish we could have tried more but we just weren't hungry enough.
Patties were good. Pastry was more like that of a cornish pasty but hey the filling hit the spot!
Definitely worth a shout. This place is clearly a popular spot.
Very good shop, very nice food.
Came up from London, was tired of all the commercial chains in the city center, this place does real carribean food, the rice and peas is next level good, I mean, you won't find better rice anywhere else, had it with fried snapper fish and steamed veg which was well spiced, lovely meal, dont be put off by the budget style of the shop, the food is on point! Cash only so take some change with you.
Wonderful place to dine and eat the food is excellent and would recommend to anyone who would like to experience real authentic Caribbean food...
Always happy to get in something thats not in store, they serve many of the latest drinks from around the world, late nights most days, a 1 stop shop.
