Lovely roadside cafe with amazing hot food at a reasonable price and nice scenery to enjoy it in, worth a visit if you're passing as they have a very good choice of products that you don't see on roadside snack vans. Had the breakfast bun, and the bacon was thick with fresh eggs, sausage, which was local produce, and mushrooms.
Tucked away off the lay-by. Beautifully done. Lovely coffee (I had a flat white) and hot choc. Chicken bap was sumptuous.
Love this cafe,,, every Monday on my way to see my Granddaughter I have an egg mayo bap or a fried egg bap,,, best eggs around! You can also buy lovely fresh farm produce & there's many hot & cold food & drink options.
Fair prices for quality products :-)
Stopped in on our way home because we wanted breakfast. What a great place to stop parking great food brilliant service could not fault it the guy did my granddaughter’s bacon roll exactly as she asked for it two sausage rolls coffee and a hot chocolate absolutely perfect.
The Gingerbread House cafe on the A35 layby between Dorchester and Puddle Town. Now, the toilets? They weren't exactly a spa experience, but they did what they had to. As for the staff, they were decent – just don't think about grabbing anything hot to eat after 2:30, because that ship has sailed. Let's talk about that homemade egg mayo roll though – hands down, the highlight of the meal. As for the menu, there was plenty of option but prices were a little steep but isn't everything these days...
Had an amazing pennies, cheese bacon mushrooms. Delicious. Service was amazing and friendly, young lady serving going by the name of Grace, she was excellent and attentive and made us all feel very welcome. Top job at the Gingerbread cafe.
Always a great service with exceptional food. Why would you not stop by?
Local council are apparently refurbishing repairing the toilet block, so a couple of porta loos are available.
A little overpriced and the hot chocolate is tiny. The guy came back from a smoke and never washed his hands and I have to say he had an attude about him. Great location if your passing by, maybe he was just having an off day but the not washing his hands after smoking was enough for me to not come back
