We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay in this traditional pub with guestrooms above. The pub itself is large with plenty of informal bar dining areas as well as a more formal table service section. We ordered a pizza to share and although it wasn't outstanding, it was very tasty and the right price point. The breakfast the next morning was also good. The sausage was really tasty and good quality. We stayed in room 1 which was a very small double with an ensuite. Decent shower. I knocked a star off the room as I discovered the room didn't have a hairdryer as advertised and I only discovered this after I had got out of the shower. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and I'm sure they would have got one for me if I had noticed earlier but I didn't want to have to get dressed and go downstairs wet. We would definitely stay again.
Our second visit here to Eat out. As always a warm welcome with a lovely meal at a reasonable price . Decent size portions too. Can highly recommend.
Great pub and even better food. Friendly, helpful owner and staff. Great atmosphere. We stayed 2 nights as we were attending BSB at Oulton Park so it was ideal as a base for us. Would definitely return
We had a great stay here for 4 days. It was our introduction to living in the UK and a great one.

Great food, atmosphere good. Friendly. Band rather loud on weekends not that I am too old but young children may find it a bit much.
We had our flyball club Christmas meal here on 6th December 2023. Fifteen of us enjoyed a lovely, relaxed meal with good sized portions and great service from friendly staff. We pre-ordered our food (as there were 15 of us) from the Christmas menu and without exception everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. The meals arrived together and the food was hot and fresh. |Thank you to Kenny and Kath and their family who have worked tirelessly to turn this pub into a lovely venue and deserve much credit. It is a real asset to the village and is very popular.
A brilliant place to stay Host and staff cant do enough for you,dinner was very good a huge gammon steak and all the trimmings, Breakfast was very good and more than enough to set you up for the day. The room was just the right size very nicely decorated with all the things you need ,well worth a visit cant wait till we go again
Staff are welcoming and friendly, room was great ( but we couldn't figure out how to open the windows), bed was comfortable, room was warm, shower was great, breakfast was delicious. Totally worth it! Would definitely come back! Thanks to everyone! ????????
