I came across Gatefield motors by chance by putting a small amount of diesel in my Honda Civic (petrol), someone at the station recommended me to ring Steve at Gatefield and he was very helpful and advised me with what to do, which saved me having to have it drained.
Fast forward 6 months, issue with misfiring, Steve got it booked in within a day, sorted the mechanical problem out, just got to have an auto electrician to sort it now which he recommended. Also, fixed my rattling exhaust at the same time. Cant recommended them enough, great service and very reasonable prices! And I’ll definitely be going back to have my car MOT’d and serviced now I’ve found a great local garage with honest people.

I had an MOT done here they got me in last minute they was all very friendly and honest. The car was in and out on time, they could of got more work out of me but advised me on what to look out for in future so I know when the car needs repairing.
Had new brake pads and discs put in and they started squeaking almost immediately after leaving the garage. So wished I had gone to my regular garage. Was also referred to a guy called Nathan to sort a DPF issue with another car and he charged me £100 for doing absolutely nothing. AVOID
Done my MOT for the past 2 years years - most efficient, kind garage ever ! So helpful couldn’t recommend enough

Genuine people with Genuine prices, Steve and Sean I can't fault, sorted my car quickly even though they were very busy and I left feeling that I had been charged very fairly indeed, , 10 out of 10 from me !!
Beware new owner and garage nearly killed me repaired my brakes fitted new disks and pads when fault was sized calipers, claimed to have bled brakes and changed brake fluid ,unless new fluid is brown they hadn't, then charged another £100 to put fault right. Brake's even worse. Took to another garage who fitted new calipers brake pipes and flexible pipes which were corroded and couldn't be bled now brakes perfect,Gatefield autos didn't have correct tool to change pipes.
They even issued a brake test certificate (they're also an MOT station ) they did refund my money
but I won't use them for anything in the future.
Stopping a 3.5 ton motorhome without functional brakes is really Scarry.
I took my motorhome here today for a MOT the service It was excellent, friendly staff and honest.
I have been a mechanic for over 20 years and did not want to take it to where I worked as it's a main dealer and quite far away, I had never had this vehicle on a ramp to inspect and only done 6 miles in it from buying it over 7 months ago.
Thanks for the good service and honest opinions would highly recommend for MOT and general maintenance fair prices.
